If you calculate how much earlier you need to slowdown before entering a U turn in grip in comparison to just throwing in a clutch kick and a hard downshift in drift, there is really no slow down period.

I can guarantee you are incorrect with that statement, if you were correct f1 cars would be drifting… and i thought downshifting makes u go faster silly me
