GTP > stage 2 WRX

Last night the girlfriend and I went to go to IHOP and on the way we ran into a little fun. We were driving down xxxrd in NT and a yellow WRX pulled along side of us, then the typical thing happened, he nodded then I nodded back. He proceded to down shift to I’m guessing 2nd :gotme: , I slowed down a little bit as well so we can stage a roll. He honked his horn three times (I was happy cause thats on my plate. . . so it kind of payed off. “RUNEMON3”). We were even for whatever gear he was in, then he shifted and I pulled. . . shifted again and pulled some more. :tup: He seemed like a cool guy for the four secs. that I talked to him.

Then on the way back from IHOP we drove by mighty and saw a bunch of old cars leaving so I just got in line and followed them around town for a little while. We did a few little pulls down xxxdr but nothing major. I would have to guess the fastest one of the bunch was the old school yellow trans-am :gotme: . We ended up lining up at a light and I pulled about a car to a car an a half on him then he shut down.

Good times last night. . . to bad I can’t go WOT yet.

No not really. . .It still needs to be tuned. I bought the DHP power tuner and laptop but I have no idea what I’m doing. I did do a case learn though lol. Its running to rich still.

so how do you know what stage it was??? but either way sounds like your car scoots :tup:

After our little run we cought a light for a few secs. and I asked him what he has done and he told me something something stage 2 with about 16psi. I have no idea what that crap means as far as power wise for a WRX.

Stage 2 for a wrx is prolly around 250-260 at the crank. It is typically a Turbo back exhaust and some sort of engine management.

Well. . .I’m upper LTFT’s @ idel, according to that I’m running lean. But if you stand behind my car it burns your eyes from the gas. I’m guessing thats from the cat. delete and big cam :gotme:

That would be Cobb STG. 2 @15.1psi. I was having major boost problems…I couldnt break 15.3 in 3rd. So I kept messing with the wastegate with no help, THEN I changed my plugs yesturday and BANG!!! 16.3 in third, 15.6 in second…problem fixed.

Now…about the “pulling” you speak of. Im aware that your G/F was in the car, but from what I saw couldn’t have been more than 120 soaking wet. I dont recall you pulling me in my 3rd gear. You did slightly “pull” at the top of my 4th, then I shut down. What sucks is that I believe that my 4th is somewhat overdriven. That was a pretty damn close run, I don’t agree with the description of it. Therefore, im gonna need to meet up to settle this. OH YEAH…you wernt WOT!! omg. I am at target boost now, therefore I have no excuses, Ill run tonight, or whenever you CAN run WOT. Plus id like to check out your ride. get in touch.

I was just given some bad news…My Bro has a 2004 Mustang Mach1 with a catless H-pipe and flowmasters. When we would race we would be dead even when I was at 15.3. He just changed his rear end fluid to Redline lightweight shockproof, est. hp increase of 3-4 at wheels. I fixed the boost. We just raced a min ago and he gets me by 1/3 of a car in 2nd and I stopped him in 3rd. sigh. I thought I was gonna walk away from him. I needed to gain on him to keep up with you without the GF in the car.

Im assuming you wouldnt want to race one from a dig for shits and giggles… I could work some 4500rpm clutch slipping AWD magic that would have you looking at my tailights…:D.

That WRX drives around here all the freakin’ time. I know he’s cut me off a couple times. I can’t remember his name but he’s had the car for a couple years. Only thing I remember was that his dad was the D.A.R.E. officer that came to our classes back in elementary school. It’s quite a nice car.

Where are you from Samsara? And i thought i read that you had a yellow WRX…ive actually only saw one other yellow one around my area…and some girl was driving…

get a wideband and save yourself alot of headacks.

I cut you off? O man sry, I try to drive pretty reasonable. I live in NT, and have had the car since 03’. I see sonic yellow here and there…

FREAKGTP what kind of engine managment do you have, is that fully user tunable? If so I would also suggest a wideband. My good friend has a new wideband that he bought for his TSI. I have never hooked one up myself but I would assume that you just stick it in a bung around the downpipe area, and run it in your car? I CANT speak for him, but ill see if he’ll let you use it someday. He lives close to you, good tuning location.
