how long of a range do you have? If its 200 yards or better i am in.
unfortunately the trees stop it around 125 but we could back up the shooting table and make it about 150-160
Oh, I missed this thread.
Everybody join NYFirearms.com, pronto.
I shoot at Canandaigua Sportsmens Club every Sunday…yeah a bit far for Buffalonians.
^^^i just joined nyfirearms.
My buddy and I went last night to pick up his M4. He got a real sick setup with the Eotec, broomhandle, shure light.
I know me and my buddy are going shooting this weekend regardless, but it would be nice to shoot outside. I’m down for the swamp or wherever.
Lemme guess, from BGC?
I like BGC, but I don’t understand some of their rifles they sell. They put all this crap on them so they can jack the price. Can I just have a normal M4 with iron sights and no flashlight, laser, ACOG, fleshlight, iPod, etc? If I want that crap I’ll put it on myself.
i want a fleshlight scope. it would be like aiming and going down on a broad all in one
ya, from BGC. He wanted to add all those pieces at some point anyway, so he decided to buy it already setup. When I bought mine, I bought the bone stock M4 and added from there.
They didn’t even have a stock M4 setup to look at, which I was pretty surprised at. All of them had some kind of sight, and rail system. I tried to convince him to wait and build one, but he fell in love with it.
I’m actually gonna sell my SKS and start building a 2nd AR. I can’t wait to have a telescoping stock. My fixed stock pisses me off.
Yeah, thats what I’m saying. They add a bunch of crap so they can charge more.

Are you moving? Or buying a preban?
I actually really like my ACE Skeleton stock. I don’t find the telescoping carbine stocks comfortable at all. I might build a 2nd lower with an ACE Entry Skeleton or Entry Ultralight. The full length Skeleton is good for normal shooting but I have to blade slightly to get a good cheek weld and eye relief with my 4x scope.
Am I the only one that doesn’t bother with fancy optics on my M4?
I’m gonna piece together a pre-ban. I’m gonna start with just a lower, and then eventually get another upper config as well.
I have a cheap (but surprisingly good) NcStar “tactical” fixed power. I really only have it so I can see where I hit.
Cool, how much are prebans going for now?
Can anyone recommend a good gunsmith to have a high power scope put on my 1917 Enfield?
I’ve seen stripped pre-ban lowers for as low as $250, but most of the ones I’ve seen are $400ish or more.
I’m hoping I can luck out and find a deal at the gun show next weekend, but I won’t hold my breath.
I picked up a clean bare-bones M4 from BGC a couple years ago. They come up every now and then.
I’m still up for shooting this weekend. Pref Sunday. LMK via PM if anyone gets something together.
Dave Zell Jr - he shoots with me in the league. I’m pretty sure he has an Enfield, so he’s familiar with them. PM me and I’ll find his contact info.
Why have a rifle that can shoot out to 300 meters accurately when you can’t hit even a man size targets with your iron sights. The thing can group 3 inches at 300 meters. Put optics on it. Otherwise your just making noise, very expensive noise.
I think I’ll take a trip to BGC tomorrow…need some Lee reloading stuff for Beowulf. :snky:
Speak for yourself…
Yeah, a good shooter can hit far targets very accurately with iron sights.
Ok ok. I am prior .mil, I can hit a man sized target at 300, but not consistantly, not every time. I am not talking hitting targets, I am talking about quality. I can make 3in (read head shots) to 500 meters all day with a ar-15 with nice optics. I will buy all the beer a man can drink in one day if he can put 3 out of 5 into a 4 in group at 200 yards with iron sights.
I know the capabilities of irons, but I also know the capabilities with optics. There is no comparison for the average, good, or really good shooter.
Anyone care to take me up on the bet?
