Can I use my .22lr with irons?
yup, I am sure your a good ass shot, but a bet is a bet.
That group with a .22LR with a scope is difficult. The round is fairly ineffective at that range and you will have to arc it pretty heavily. Most rounds go subsonic within 100 yards. Its not an easy bet with .223, trying it with .22 is just silly. Better hope for absolute zero wind.
This is from an NRA match I shot in August of last year. It’s an official 200 yard smallbore rifle target, fired from the prone position (sling, no rest). Fired with a Winchester 52B match rifle, with Federal Gold Medal Match (900b) ammo. Fired 20 shots, with 14 in the 10 ring (4 x’s). The first 5 shots were fired without checking my spotting scope for a sight correction

See i shot an AK and it felt way more sketchy than my sks might have been the AK though
Have a new stock on order so should be more enjoyable to shoot

That is a really nice Israeli K98. Mine looked like ass when I picked it up… I have sweated it, and had to refinish it 
but it is still sweating cosmoline out of it. lol
I’m with you on the SKS. I would take mine over a 5 moa canted sight rifle. It wasn’t just “that AK”, they are made on the cheap, and most of the ones in the US now were put together by the monkeys over at Century.
and you guys looking for places to shoot. Join one of the 20+ local gun clubs. They are 60-120 a year, and you can shoot whenever you want.

My dad is a member at the Wood and Brook sportsmans club on genessee. He was telling me about some of the guys there that shoot competatively. With a custum built 6mm riffle some of these guys can pull off clover patterns 500+ yards. FUCKING INSANE!
The next gun I buy is going to be a Winchester lever action 30-30. And I also want to pick up a .243 with a nice leupold scope.
Depending what I’m doin I may swing by. I live like 10 mins from there if that.
