I meant you
:owned:
i think he meant you also :dunno:??? take it to efighting!!! woot woot fight fight fight
Let’s talk about your numbers, the top 1% make more than the bottom 90%
The top 10% pay 62% of the taxes according to you, by my math that leaves 38% to be paid by the bottom 90%
Let’s make this simple, the top 1% make more than the bottom 90% AND the top 1% pay LESS in taxes than the bottom 90%.
See your numbers helped to make MY point.
you’re going to question my understanding of the legal and economical system of our country, but can’t pick up on the slightest amount of sarcasm …
you’re hardly worth my time… lets argue it out… make a point and we’ll go from there… where in my post did I even elude to the amount of one’s income paid to taxes?
how in the fuck are they paying less?
what is your point, that you can’t infer basic math functions to reality? the percentage is the whole of the total amount of taxes collected… no where did anyone specify what that total amount is… simply percentages of it AND who’s paying.
so if 1% makes up 62% of the total taxes collected… me thinks they pay more than the 90% it takes to tally the remainding 38%
and i just quoted the tax breakdown from 2000 or 2001… it was just me making a point, not directly talking about numbers.
yeah… where’s a :dumbfuck: smiley when you need one
… or two to include the redneck
You said top 1% pay 32%
You said top 10% pay 62.4
leaving 37.6 for the bottom 90%
The top 1% make more than the bottom 90%.
The top 1% according to you pays 32% of the taxes, and the bottom 90% according to you pays 37.6%
Not only does the bottom 90% make less but they pay a higher rate than the top 1%
dude wtf?
you can’t just break it down however you’d like to make a point… so you’re talking about ONLY the top 1% compared to 90% of america? fuck, even some actors / actresses / sports players don’t meet standards of the top 1%, that’s a small margin.
i’m talking about top 10% paying ovre 60% of taxes and the ‘bottom’ as you like to put it, paying 34%.
just sheds new light on the arguement… doesn’t it?
All you fuckers who think like this are stupid and need to stop believing stero types. Nobody on welfare has a fucking mercades or a hummer. Those people are probably drug dealers or people who would rather have nice cars than care about where they live.
don’t think i’m not agreeing with you… i think SNS was a little extreme… those $200 nikes are probably $15 fakes from that dude on smithfield ave.
while i agree most people are fuckers… don’t forget that welfare is still a government protection and all you ahve to do is be eligable
a certian union is picketting ebcause they do not want to pay 6% into welfare for their families… .mind you these are the people that do dick for a job and are(union) NOT accepting a pay raise from 12.70 and hour to over $13 /hr.
also the ‘poor’ aren’t as ‘poor’ as far as the old measure of poor… i was just talking about this today and had soem census bureau percentages… it was like 90% of the poor have tv’s 60 percent have microwaves, 8 have computers 41 percent have their own homes and 60 dont pay mortgages blah blah blah.
and families that are hardly considered ‘poor’ are eligable for welfare… getting welfare doesn’t mean someone is poor.
Hey asshole I’m not a stereo type I have seen it first hand and delt with it so fuck off. Yes they may be drug dealers but THEY ARE ALSO USING THE WELFARE SYSTEM
NEWSFLASH! THE ESTATE TAX IS NOT A YEARLY TAX. ITS A ONE TIME TAX THAT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE OWNER OF THE ESTATE DIES. WHICH IS WHY THEY ALSO CALL IT THE DEATH TAX. :ugh:
I couldnt agree with you more. Welfare is corrupt and should be banished from the land. However, that has nothing to do with taxes.
im not suggesting giving people free stuff. Aside from my views on a properly run nationally funded healthcare system.
How can you say that its not harder to get out of poverty once you’re in it? If it was so easy to get out of, then why doesnt everyone get out of it? I realize that those in poverty could do a lot more for themselves, and theres a lot of ignorance and uneducated people in tha bracket, but that doesnt mean we should just say FUCK EM. The best way to help the poor get out of poverty is a good education, which they undeniably do not get.
the richest 20% of Americans control 80% of the wealth. or something along those lines. dont crucify me if the number is a little bit off.
my point is that in a time where the government is in MASSIVE debt, we shouldnt be worried about making the rich even richer by giving them tax cuts.
sonny sonny sonny… did you read the article I posted? Cause the answers to all your questions are in it.
The thing that super pisses me off is that Bush trumpets about that his tax cuts are going to help the working poor and the middle class, which they DO NOT. if you really want to understand where Im coming from, read Al Franken’s “Lies”… You can pick any conservative book you like and I’ll read it. Except for Hannity/Coulter/Limbaugh because we all know they’re rediculous partisan hacks that do nothing but tow the party line.
As far as taxes go.
Here is a graph showing the national debt on a year by year basis. you will notice that it stayed pretty much flat until the 1980s during the Reagan revolution. It skyrocketed up during the late 80s early 90s. Clinton finally flattened it off and actually brought it down some. Then with Bush II in office it started skyward again at an alarming pace.
The national debt currently sits at approx. 7.92 trillion. Your share of this is about 26k.
THIS YEAR THE GOVERNMENT OF THIS COUNTRY PAID APPROX 325 BILLION IN INTEREST ON THE DEBT. Keep in mind that this debt was ran up almost exclusively by republicans.
Your share of that 325 billion is approx $1083. This is money that needs to be paid back. I would gladly take a federal income tax cut of 1083 per year.
I don’t mind tax cuts but I dislike irresponsible spending even more. The irs took in 1.86 trillion in revenue for the 04 fiscal year, and our countries expenditures were 2.34 trillion leavind a budget defecit of 480 billion.
It is very irresponsible for bush to give tax cuts and then drive the debt up trillions of dollars and have a budget with a 480 billion dollar defecit in one fiscal year.
The 04 GDP of this country was 11.75 trillion, and the irs took in 1.86 trillion. This means that the revenue took in was 15.8% of GDP. I am hardly in that highest bracket but I know I paid the federal government at least that much this past year.
So let’s go wild, lets say someone made 15k which isn’t too far above the poverty line.
15000*7.65 % = $1147 social security/medicare
15000-4800= 10200 taxable = $1165
1147+1165= $2312 taxes to federal govt. or 15.4% of income
So what we see here is that someone who makes 15k a year pretty much pays their fair share to the federal govt.
So who doesn’t pay their fair share?? The answer is the very wealthy, they don’t make their income the same way. They don’t make income in wages, their income comes in very different ways. The income tax is fast becoming a wage tax. Since the very wealthy don’t draw a wage they can get out of paying tons of taxes.
There are also more back door taxes on the poor, any usage tax like a gas tax effects the normal person far more than the wealthy. A billionaires car doesn’t use that much more gas than yours. The penna property tax also disproportionately taxes the poor.
But the major killer on the working people is the sales tax. A working person spends almost all of his pay, so a large portion of their income is hit with another 6-7% when they spend it. A wealthy person doesn’t spend nearly as much % wise on consumer goods that are sales taxable. Think about it, does bill gates have 55 toasters just cause he is rich??
See your second paragraph conflicts with your first sentance. This is the problem. If they are not willing to work, yes you should say fuck them, because all they are looking for is a hand out and then bitch about how people are doing them wrong…
