Had a great drive on some great roads this weekend

The wife, kid and I went up north to visit my family over the weekend and I decided since the weather was nice Monday it would be a good time to try a different route back.

The route:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Fort+Covington,+NY+12937&daddr=Nicholville,+NY+to:George+St+to:White+Hill+Rd+to:Stark+Rd+to:NY-3+W+to:I-81+S&hl=en&geocode=%3BFb8GqgId6cmM-w%3BFXTpqAIdjmmK-w%3BFeQMqAIdKm2L-w%3BFdlDpgIdqLuK-w%3BFRhHowIdHj-L-w%3BFYd6ngIdB-x4-w&mra=ls&sll=43.96465,-75.840683&sspn=0.182616,0.445976&ie=UTF8&z=9

And some pictures:

All 55mph zones, and I caught up with ONE car on the entire section of twisty/hilly roads. Followed him for less than 100 feet and found a spot to pass. Probably the single best drive of my driving life.

“Fkin leafers…”

Haha jk,

Looks awesome, how do you like the goat on the twisties

good to know the gto is a 6.0 =) i hate the way the ass looks on 5.7’s

It’s a tough car to beat for a drive like that. Long haul comfortable, handles great, that deep V8 bellow coming out of the corners. I lost track of how many times I got that light in the stomach feeling cresting hills.

I grew up on all those roads (watertown). I miss driving those roads whenever I wanted to

Were the roads suitable for bikes?

Gravel? Potholes?

Scenery looks great. nice pictures

i love driving down roads by myself and just cruising

i’ve prob driven down 20a an hour and hour back about 10times this year

Most of it was as smooth as could be. Didn’t notice much gravel but wasn’t really looking for it either. I was moving along pretty quick but no where near the limit with my wife and kid in the car.

wow nice pics…gotta love the fall

That’s awesome.

Fall is so beautiful. looks like fun.

Very nice, Just look out for those deer.

Looks great Jay. I drove home from New Hampshire a week ago and made a point of taking 2 laners through the green mountains, but I never got into roads like that.

Good to see you’re raising the wife and kid right!

very nice pics

Quite scenic

Fuck you

Heh… Sorry.

Looks awesome…My car is about the exact opposite, but I am headed to a pretty sweet spot myself. It’s out in the Western NC mountians off the blue ridge parkway. Pretty close to deal’s gap too.
