I lived on this street for 9years, and then finally moved my ass…1KM south of it.
This street is awesome.
Steeles W. is Ontario’s worst road

Tuesday, November 15, 2005TORONTO – A heavily travelled east-west route dividing Toronto and York Region has been named the worst road in Ontario for 2005.
Steeles Avenue West won the dubious distinction Tuesday after a poll conducted by the Municipal Roads Coalition.
Voters in the online poll described the road on the northern edge of Toronto as an “extremely unsafe roadway” with “horrendous potholes which cars weave to avoid, that in turn cause potential collisions.”
No. 2 on the list is Carling Avenue in Ottawa, followed by Albert Street in the Township of Norwich.
Of the Ottawa street, one voter wrote, “So bumpy, that during our pregnancy we were advised not to travel along this stretch of Carling Avenue as it may induce labour.”
Rob Bradford of the Ontario Road Builders’ Association, part of the roads coalition, said many of the roads on the list are repeat offenders.
Albert Street topped the list last year, while Steeles won in 2003.
“Albert Street, nothing has happened, and the people voted very strongly again,” Bradford said. “They want some action on it.”
The number of voters in the poll was down significantly, from almost 13,000 in 2004 to nearly 5,000 this year.
Bradford said he believes it’s because drivers are frustrated.
“Take Steeles, they saw it up there the first two years. … They don’t see anything in the near future happening to that road.”
