What roads do you want to see fixed or destroyed? Or the speed limit changed.
Speed limit problem:
All roads…:E
167ave, from Cambell Road to 127st: 60km/h WTF. I got a ticket the other week…the cop was following me and “clocked me” going 80. Just today i was driving at around 4:30 and everyone was going 75. Its a straight road for 30 blocks!!! They lowered the speed and changed the interesction on 142st. Now traffic is overflowing on Campell Rd and 127st creating a nice wait at the lights!!
Whitemud DRIVE  : DRIVE!! hahaha Its Whitemud Freeway! atleast it was when it opened. 100km/h is what the whitemud is rated at and it used to be that way till dum edmonton drivers got on it. The city changed the word freeway because when people see that they think of going fast…The citys answer to minimizing accidents…lower the speed
I work all around edmonton. today I was working in Rutherford (South southside) for half the day and then had to go to the Hamptons (West westside). So I went on the whitemud and was traveling the speed that the road was made for! No problem. Infact, 75% of the traffic was. (FYI: thats 20km over the posted speedlimit. $124.00 ticket.)
It took me 10min from 111st to Henday. That road is awesome when used to its fullest potential.
Worst Roads:
170st north of the whitemud: I get sea sick when changing lanes!!!
167ave - 127st east to the stop sign. WTF happened!! Good luck for all you with lowered cars. YOU WONT MAKE IT OUT ALIVE!
These are just a few that come to mind.
Post up which roads make you want to throw up!!
i live in castledowns and made the mistake of traveling on 167ave east of 127st and that was soooooo bad i was swerving so much to avoid the ruts and dips and still bottemed out. i never made that mistake again.
I drive 167ave to and from work the whole way. It is one reason, I didn’t like driving my 240SX to work. The speed limit is too low, and now they have eliminated retards from crashing into cars, at 142st, the limit should go to 80, I never go 60 on there unless the car ahead of me is.
50 st on the north side from 137 ave to yellowhead. I hit a relativly small pothole which resulted in a bent rim and a blown out side wall on fairly new tires! :alright:
Fort Road, and 97St right at the Intersecton by Futureshop, its like they poured the asphalt then 5min later let a semi drive through it to make rails.
I agree that 167 ave in both directions is one of the worst roads in any city. A couple years back they repaved that little section from the stop sign at 112st up to the next intersection about 1/2km west. Two weeks after it was paved it began to fall apart and eventually became like a little fucking minefield. There was actually more pothole than road. I was driving my Tracker at the time and would just drive into the open field next to the road because it was in better shape/smoother than the actual pavement.
Someone else that lives in the north end must remember when this happened?
^^^Its true. They like to do half jobs on that road and actually make it worse than b4. Now that section is actually fixed with painted lines and everything! So you get a break for the last 3 blocks.
Im not sure why the city didnt just continue on with the paving right up to 127st…They even had the road shut down for a while…167ave is an arterial road.
On a side not…153ave from castle downs road to 97st. eastbound = Poopy
It seems that the northside has shit for roads… :?
Try heading south on 116 street and crossing the intersection with 107 Avenue…by the cemetary.
If you’re going any faster than about 30km/h you’re going to pull a Dukes of Hazzard. :!:
While that may be fun, without the magic that is TV editing, your completely bent front end won’t magically fix itself as the camera cuts to a shot of the amazed cops you just flew over.
Any intersection that you drive through AT THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT that wrecks your car has to make this list.
If you go west from that intersection on 107st in the middle lane just before the cementary ends dont go faster than 40k because for the fist time i felt what it feels like when you bottom out on coilovers.
Turning to go down sherwood park freeway from 50th street.
You turn left to cross sotuhbound 50th street and you will end up having to go about 10 km/h or less, the ruts that the trucks have made are 4 inches deep and I challenge anyone to travel that turn.
