Head Gasket Replacement

Hey guys,

It has come to me that my 240sx chassis is to rotten to build upon, and i have decided to remove the engine and place it in a better well prepped home. Now my question is, on removal of the engine i would want to do a metal head gasket. Although i feel comfortable with the idea of taking off the head, the thought of timing just isn’t shining through.

I was wondering if anyone would know somewhere that would replace the head gasket with a metal one and the cost.

Thanks Alot
Randy

anyone?

Cost will vary with the shop, as it’s a metal head gasket you’ll need ARP studs as well. Ask around at reputable shops or look at some of the vendors on this website.

OR Just giv’r. KA’s have tons of support, find a good tutorial, take your time and work your way through it, your never gonna learn unless you try.

likely 6 hours labour, So $300 - $600 depending on the rate.
I have an extra set of ARP studs for an sr20 if thats what you have. & a used apexi head gasket (Get a new one though for $212.)

6hours labour even with the engine out of the chassis?

Its a sr20det btw

Well if you take it to a shop that your not a regular/in with, chances are they will charge you the book rate for a head gasket, regardless of in/out of the vehicle.

You have a PM. Send me on me back if youre interested and well work out a price.
