Anyone on here have their health care costs double? I am curious of what everyone on here is paying for a HMO. My wife and I are planning on trying to have a child in the near future and wanted to move from my PPO to the HMO. Well it is open enrollment now and our HMO rates doubled. It is $62/pay (2weeks) for a single person, $126/pay for a married couple, and $150/pay for a family. So when we have a kid we will be paying roughly $300 per month for health insurance. This is getting ridicules…to pay between $3,300-3,900 /yr to have health insurance. I realize this is actually “good” compared to what others pay because my employer contributes over $340/pay…so the “real cost” is $450-$500 every two weeks…or $13,000 per year…give me a break.
But I read on the Oboma site that if I pay for health care then I can expect my cost to decrease by $2,500 per year…so I guess in no time I will only be paying like $30-$50 for my coverage a 75% decrease. This guy must be a god…I wonder when I can expect my 75% decrease???
Mine is $120 a month and my Fiance is no extra charge. If we would have a child, it would be $10 more per month. This is Eye, Dental and my PPO/HMO not even sure which.
Don’t hold your breath on the 75% decrease on health insurance. Obama is allah not god…
Wow $120/month is good. That is what ours WAS…now it is open enrollment and the HMO pretty much doubled and the PPO (90/70) stayed the same (86/pay for married couple).
the question is, what are your copays? you can have cheaper insurance if you have a little bit higher copays. I am not worried about copays this time in my life, very healthy and my fiance is as well. 25 copay for Rx, $100 ER copay… so not too bad.
Yeah, my wife and I have been considering kids and I don’t want her working anymore after we have our first kid. But I think my health insurance payment would be like 200 bucks before taxes coming out of my pay. That is the only barrier to us having kids. The plan has great coverage and low copays which is good, but it is just a ton of money per month. I also have the option for a cheaper plan that would cost me more out of pocket if we actually had to get medical care, but I think I would be willing to do that instead of paying $500 per month.
We’re about $122 every two weeks with two kids, but it’s not an HMO, and we have a weird split because we’re both employees at the same company. I have the girls on mine and my wife is on her own since it’s slightly cheaper.
$15 copay for regular visits. Medical only. Dental/vision is separate. That’s about another $30 every 2 weeks.
You need to be a teacher so you can complain if you have to pay anything.
I know it is the same god dip****… just a different name. the religions are so so very similar. this i know too… DIAF
Damn… BlkP42E that is redonkulous. so you have to pay $2000 out of pocket before the insurance kicks in? that is like the teachers benefits in NC except they have to pay $3000 i believe.
I work in the healthcare field. Yes they pay a ton. On top of it I get 3 weeks vacation a year, 40 hours of Personal time, and right now I have 575 hours of sick time saved and I max out at 960 hours of sick time.
