+1
I have hids from ddm coming right now. Should be here by next week. Takes around two weeks since they ship from China but it’s worth it.
+2 for DDM.
I have my second set I have yet to install because my first set got water damaged. Was really impressed with the quality and even in freezing weather they lit right up. DDM service is top notch as well, They shipped me a bulb that put out slightly less light than the other and I took pictures to prove to them and they were quick to send me replacements. The shipping isn’t really that bad at all if your just getting a hid kit. My second it I had it at my door the next week. Now if you were getting headlights and angel eyes with the hid kit with everything pre wired, now that took a month but it was expected.
 for deciding to go with 6000k, personally, I can’t stand anything over 6000 but that’s just a personal preference.
8k looks good, I have 8k in my car and they seem to look more like 6k. I’ve been saying DDMtuning.com for like the past 10 posts good to see I’m ignored on here
you start losing light after 6k and I hate when trucks put those HID bulbs in non-projector housings, they blind everyone. If you adjusted them properly on a truck you would see nothing because you would be pointing directly at the ground
I had a set of OEM headlight housings retrofitted by lightwerkz and was extremely impressed with their work. lightwerkz.net is their site. If you have the money, I would highly recommend them. Their retrofit fee is $600 and they guarantee against any condensation and rotation issues. The $600 is on top of all the hardware you will have to buy (projectors, bulbs, and ballasts).
Having an actual HID setup in a projector that is designed for a xenon bulb, and outfitted with a clear lens will give you the light output and color flicker that you’re looking for. Honestly I wouldn’t even consider anything else. With the proper projector and lens, you can go with the 4300k bulbs and have the most light output, and still get beautiful color at the cutoff. In my opinion anything higher than 6000k is silly. With a good projector it’s not needed.
I heard that if you put HIDs in the OEM housing that your housing and HIDs will break… and maybe a couple other parts of your truck will require replacing.
False
Caused my motor to seize up.
I bet you rode the short bus.
I really hope you are just trying to mess with the OP
I didn’t know that California was in China?
my two cents would be get the ebay housings that were posted and put some DDMs into them. anything more is overkill, anything less is being an asshole (the F150 stock housings will glare and blind people like crazy)
It should be legal for the general public to smash the headlights (and face if they’re over 6k) of anyone who puts hid lights in reflector housings.
Thanks for not being a stupid fuck like some others seem to be.
Surprisingly people can’t read between the… white spaces?
Can i ask a dumb question? Whats the difference between a standard housing and a housing meant for HIDs thats NOT a projector?
They probably have a more pronounced cutoff pattern than your typical reflector housing. Also, cars with factory HID lights with reflector housings use a D2R bulb, which has a metal shield around part of the bulb to limit the scatter and glare.
