Or you can make me an offer on my R6 I can’t refuse so I can go pick up a 1000 ;D
I’m glad you’ve came to a wise conclusion. If you need any SV help or just somebody to ride with, let me know. If I were you I’d join www.Svrider.com to find a bike (I found mine in Ohio, and two members volunteered to go out there for me (locals) check it out, take pictures and let me know how it is before I drove 10 hours there.) I’m always down for a ride as most of the people here know. In a season and a half I put 18K on my bike.
JRubino… yeah just what he needs :lol
It’s a breeze to ride
Ok. Thanks for the site link. Ill keep everyone updated as things progress.
just remember the golden rule…
NO nut to butt riding.

This is going to be a looooong read, but it’s worth it. The more you know, the safer you will be. I still re-read this thread from time to time to keep myself in check.

LMAO thats a good one :lol
Yeah but when you got in your accident…you were riding nut to butt :confused :crackup
Hey he was a good friend and i know im not a fag
Well guys a little update! I passed my permit test, so it’s on to Sportline to check out the inventory. I may even head down to troy city garage but I WILL have a bike this week. I decided not to take my MSC because there isnt an opening until mid-late summer and in the amount of time it would take me to wait for that I have freinds who can teach me how to ride safely. So with that all said and done I have my eyes on a specific make and model. I would like a Yamaha YZF600R. But we will see what they have when I get there. From what I understand it is a good begginers bike and it is not to fast but it is still quick so well see. Ok ill post pics when the bike I get comes home!
P.S I may need someone to ride it home for me :tong
Congrats! I’m willing to give a few helpful hints and tricks on riding anytime.
YZF is a decent beginners bike, and it sure leaves you plenty of room to grow and improve on :thumb
I still suggest signing up for MSF even after you “learn” how to ride. The first day will be boring since you will already have the very basic knowledge of the bike that they teach, but second day you will still find valuable even after being able to ride on the street on your own.
Good luck, and stay rubber side down.
Well I put down on the bike I want today. It is something I didn’t even think I would get but I am really happy with my choice. Its an 2008 Kawasaki Ninja 250. Red. Brand new and they look awesome in person. It is very inexpensive and I am really looking forward to learning on it. Ill post a stock picture for now but I will take some good ones during the delivery. ;D
Good choice, they’re fun little bikes. I haven’t ridden the revised 08 yet, but my previous gen 04 is a blast.
Word of advice though, take its front fairing off for a first month or so.
It’s easier to wrench on it if you do your own maintenance, and you won’t have to kick yourself for dropping and cracking/scratching it - happens to most people.
Everything you need to know - http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/Main_Page
it’s mostly about previous gen, but the bikes are almost identical and there is a section there for new gen as well.
ya i might be gettin 1 this summer they look like a zx now finally instead of ugly…
you can get put on a list for the msf in case anyone backs out you can get in sooner, i got mine within 2 weeksof calling, even though they said they were booked up for 4 months
Well it is official. Saturday morning I will have my new baby. Im so damn excited!!! Whooohooo… :banana
oh man! hurry up and find someone to ride with saturday!
wont be hard, Jay and vlad are always up for a ride. no matter the weather.
ya i might be gettin 1 this summer they look like a zx now finally instead of ugly…
yea just last year I was saying… if they would redesign that ugly thing to look like an actual bike then MAYBE somone would actually buy it, the only reason I didnt get a ninja 250 last year was for the fact that I didnt wanna buy a bike brand new that looked like crap , but these new ones, helll they look awesome !
ADVICE probally said already, until your 100% calm on your bike ride around with the front lower fairing off, I know you probally wont do that, but if you drop it at least I can say I told you so because your going to get into some hairy situations under 5mph ahah where you will most probally dump the bike, and if that happens you WILL mess the fairing up, it sucks, either that or get some “frame sliders” or savers for your bike (if they even make them) so if u drop it with fairings on it wont hit the ground , the sliders/savers will stop it first. I still have to get them for my bike…
Good luck with it, it looks awesome maybe we’ll meet up sometime cruise around the area, maybe race… lol just kidding
OH YA btw, since your bike is brand new im assuming it has to be broken in just like the bigger bikes brand new do, so having that fiaring off will make it easier since your going to change the oil probally very very soon i think on my bros bike he had to change it like at 1000 miles? i could be way off i dont know but it was soon
speaking of oil changes i have to change my damn oil like NOW
Well guys I have to say ;D
I picked it up at 8 o’clock this morning and have been on it all day. Spent about 2 hours in a parking lot doing some simple twists and turns and the rest on the road. It is by far the best feeling in the world. I can’t explain it but it is great. I picked up on driving this thing so quickly. I have been riding with some friends and they can’t beleive I have never rode before. But anyway a little on the bike.
Here are some photos of when I first brought it home:
And here are some of it in action during my playtime in the parking lot:
