Help me identify this nissan i saw on the 407.

Hey,

So i’m driving home today and all of a sudden there is this car in my rear view mirror, and it had really strange headlights, they were lit up, but it was very faint and only around the outside of the headlights. So i’m keeping my eye on it as it passes me, so just looking and “Hey, the passenger is driving … oh! RHD” And as it passes i notice “nissan” on the back! WTF i say and floor it to pass it and check it out. It was a big sedan, and white. It had a nissan logo on the front, but the logo was raised on like a little pillar thingy like the luxuary cars have, it was cool.
The plate was ontario, and yellow like a dealer one except it was firmly mounted, not just in the plastic baggy thingy.

Please help me out, link some pics of different cars!

Thanks

Cima? :dunno:

Close, but the rear end looked different, same with the headlights, perhapse the car was not as big.

Oh your post has been edited lol,

Nah man, the CIMA is close the rest is too boxy, it wasnt very boxy.

That’s pretty much it for 1989…

Could you tell anything else about the grille and headlights?

What size car would you relate it to on our market?

No its was definately not an 89 car.

Looked mid 90’s, i know that dealers can import and drive cars that aren´t over 15years, hence the yellow plate.

The guy driving looked late 30’s 40’s.

The lights were squareish but large, and the rear lights were i think red on top, white on bottom, and like a triangle kinda

Woah, i’ll look for more pics of this, it might be it, I think it was smaller but this is closeest.

Oh and there was no model name on the back just NISSAN

I dont think it was the Laurel cause this is what the back looks like

btw dealers get no special treatment re: importing. They have to follow the rules like everyone else. The fact that it has yellow plates means nothing… the car isnt supposed to be here.

Well i dont know enough about importing so you’re probably right,

Maybe it was imported to the US and then brought here and a dealership threw some plates on it for the 407?

The fact that it just said nissan on the back makes me think older than 90, but the fact that there was the nissan logo makes me think newer.

It looked mid 90’s styling.

Hmmm, this 96 is looking similar.

But it just said Nissan on the back, no symbol. Perhapse it was added.

You probably saw mikes newest car a 1995 4.1L V8 Cima…

i checked them out, and they dont really fit what i saw.

The front end was very boxy, and had a luxury grill, i think it was the Cima.
