Ok I have a 2006 midnight warrior 1700. When I shift up everything is fine. But when I downshift the shift pedal just stays down and doesn’t reset to the middle, I have to manual reset it with my foot. My friend said I may have been the oil because bikes use motor oil for transmition fluid also. So I had the oil changed and when I picked it up it’s still doing it. Any ideas?
not sure on the particular bike, but there is a return sping on the shifter cam on most bikes and quads I have taken apart. Could have broken or fell off the peg or what ever inside. if you up shift it returns to center fine?
Yeah if I upshift it returns. I went to the bike shop around the corner from my house and he said he will fix it for free just to bring it by because it either fell off or it just needs to be greeced
Took it to joes cycles in Mechanicville which is right next door to me and he fixed it fo free. It ended up being rust in the ball and joint on the shift linkage
