Have you hooked this car up to a VAG COM and ran the codes? The MK4’s are notorious for needing converters, it’s not if that converter is going to go, but when the converter fails. My GF’s 01 Jetta needed a converter at 100K miles, WTF car needs a converter at 100K? But the car ran fine, it just threw the fucking code fucking it up around inspection time. This liquid on the tips, does it look like thin frothy chocolate milk?

Depends on the tune. I know that apr’s tune is a simple cat delete nothing else. So that wouldn’t be the issue if it was apr. Uni and giacs a different story.

I am scanning it again tomorrow. Gunna try un hooking the maf and switching the packs around. If that does not solve it, I will look into other options.
School me on going catless and what kinda tune id have to get including cost as that is my major opponent in this.

The 3" downpipes flex pipe was completly blown out.
Well I’m under the impression that you have software currently on your car? APR? Uni? what company. If you changed the packs and plugs your fine. Ignition module would be my next bet, cleaning the maf wouldn’t be a bad idea just get some maf cleaner from a parts store. If you bring in the ignition module into an advance auto parts they can test it(assuming the guy knows the right connections).
I’m not sure on the software as I had bought it with the tune on it. Said it was done by blackforest…
blackforest is a giac tuner so if its the tune he can fix that and he should do it for free. I’m not sure the file is just a delete of the cat or if it is a tweek of the timing/fueling. I’m pretty sure its not the software though.
