Help with ca18det valve cover line?

i know i wrote that wrong…but i’m havin the funnest time trying to figure out where this line leads to…its the piece that comes off the valve cover (on usdm passenger side) and goes straight down. i’ve been trying to find where it leads to from all sorts of angles but keep losing it. i basically need to know because in the midst of removing the valve covers i put a huge hole in the line and need to replace it.

when looking at the valve covers it is the piece that is unpainted

the piece that i demolished and how it goes onto the valve cover:

where the other end of the rubber piece goes into:

so basically just need to know what flows through there so i know what type of line to replace it with

thanks in advance guys

I would assume that only liquid that is coming out of the valve cover is oil ?!

thats what i was assuming as well…i can’t follow it to find where its going and i want to be sure that oil is passing through there

its oil for sure, nothing else can come out of from valve covers on the either side, its a breather hose just like on the other side…

I am once again assuming, it goes back into the oil pan to recirculate ?!

i’ve been trying to follow it and can’t seem to find where it leads to. its very possible it goes back to the oil pan

im just gonna stick a braided line in there and call it a day

I think you should do an oil-catch can instead.

I believe there are few different kinds of set-ups on nicoclub forums that includes using/eliminating both breather lines on the valve cover… check out the forums.

have fun.
