Well did anyone go. I did, I could always use more resumes.
Seems kind of pointless to print out a bunch of resumes if you aren’t actively searching for a specific job because each resume should be a little different, unless you only have high school and one job to list.
not really, that is what your cover letter is for… your resume can be cookie cutter if you do it right and well.
EDIT: nevermind, I take it you meant you are looking for a job in general, not like a librarian looking for a position at a library
Look at it like this. If I am applying for a job as a body shop assistant manger I would make sure my auto body degree from Alfred, my (not yet attained) business degree from GCC and any relevant work experience were listed. If I were going to apply for lets say customer service phone rep for Verizon or whatever I would make sure my current job of phone rep was listed with a lot of expanding on that, and less on the others.
A cookie cutter resume is never something I believed in. But if you are going from Burger King to McDonalds I’m sure it really wouldn’t matter.
It’s all about making use of the one page and the 30 seconds your resume will probably get looked at.
Ya, but I can use my resume for any position I apply for, I am not going to be applying for something outside of my degree… you are talking for people that don’t have experience in a specific field.
Also you don’t expand on a resume, you give them three large things you did for a company, expand on your cover letter to show you are a fit for a position
