If you have a BS, MBA, and a JD i would hope you could print your resume on toilet paper and get the job
So is everyone else running from the economy. In 3-5 years the market of job seekers is going to be so over educated itâs going to be insane.
That said graduate degrees will still allow you much easier entry into the 200k plus club down the road.
:spank:
I am required to take this gay computers 101 class (I wasnt able to test out due to being required to take the next class if I pass but it didnt fit into my schedule)
Well anyways the teacher just told us today that thick resume paper is a waste because most of the time a secretary photocopies the resume and sends it out to the various hiring managers so they never know what kind of paper you used. (Corporate world, of course)
Now bringing in a thick papered resume to an interview sounds like a good idea.
Awesome, more jobs for everyone⌠except you.
There are still a limited number of graduate positions in ChemE departments. I donât think the total number of people admitted has changed. Iâm not really concerned given my proposed research focusâŚ
Do you really mean âinsaneâ?
There are many better ways to get into the 200k+ club⌠Iâm not really driven by future personal wealth, although I no longer frown on people who are.
Is this how you got a job where you can post on NYSPEED all day!?
such as?
Not really. Connections can only help you to a certain point, and I donât consider a SB owner taking in whole company revenue as phantom income to be the same as an executive making $200k+/yr. Graduate level education is the easiest way to climb ranks in a corporation.
PE licenseâŚ
prostitution.
Hm. Youâre very right.

^ at least someone has some common sense in this group. Good god some of the people in here are fucking stupid. How do you even have jobs? Why wouldnât you put your resume on resume paper?
while admirable, you have to realize that unless you work for greenpeace, you will look like a noob when you show up to an interview of job fair w/o at least 1 or 2 hardcopies.
interviewers and recruiters lose resumes. you are one of hundreds of applicants.
its just like wearing a suit to an interview. you might not WANT to, but you sure as shit arenât getting hired if you show up in a hemp clothing because you care about the environment.
if you think its suuuuuuch a waste to print it on resume paper, print it on recycled. most people wonât even notice a difference anyway, they just want a hardcopy.
it would be an associates with 14 or a doctorate with 8 but word.
my bad. does that not depend on the field though?
I print hardcopies. Theyâre just not on thick resume paper.
And judging by other peopleâs resumes, my resume is a work of art.
I mean, anything in helvetica is bound to be better than times new roman. :meh:
addendum: whatâs with people centering their contact info at the top? Not only is is difficult to access information that way, but itâs an inefficient use of space). It also reminds me of something like,
MY
SUMMER
VACATION
probably but usually its 4 years undergrad & 4 years professional/grad unless youâre in an accelerated program.
