boxxa, go to tpsny.com , they’re a sponsor on hondatech. its about 80bucks shipped, and they come with a 2year warranty
it’s SUPER easy to put together and mount, it’s a nice kit
get 6k or 8k, anything higher looks ghey

Who me?
I just put hid’s in my 636, purchased them from DDM Tuning.
Absolutely love them
Xentec HID’s are pretty badass for the money in my opinion. they’re very reasonably priced and even in reflector headlights they don’t look bad at all…none of that cheapass ebay “ice blue” look to them. they’re pretty legit.
Yep.
I’ll take that as a no.
Had some J/O in a red 3 trying hard to race my not running e30.
at the time wiring was still effed, wouldn’t idle and was running rich to the point of black smoke.
Seriously, just purchase the cheapest HID kit you can buy off ebay. They go for $40-60 on there, shipped from china.
Any HID ‘kit’ you can use to retrofit a vehicle with halogens to HID’s is going to suck. Youre just foolish for spending more on one with a better ‘warranty’ or some BS. They all suck.
And yes, I have somewhat significant experience with chinese made HID kits, as I used to sell them before they started to go for $50 on ebay direct from china.
Haha no. You can tell my 3 cuz I am the only one in the area as far as I know that has the mazda on the left and the 3 on the right side of the trunk. I also dont race, esp down NFB.
What should I look for specifically? I have a high beam and a blow beam buld. Do I need something special like a kit with seperate bulbs?
get them from somebody half way reliable like DDM (who offer a free lifetime warranty)… the very cheapest rebased ones can be very poorly built and are often not plug and play.
it’s worth the extra $5-10 over the very very cheapest on ebay and you don’t have to find some guy in china and mail him his non-working crap all the way back.
Well going off what ZOMGVTEK said, What about something like this? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/XENON-HID-CONVERSION-KIT-MAZDA-3-5-6-PROTEGE-RX7-MIATA_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a1Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1309Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem53db1cd020QQitemZ360158384160QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
Also what happens when I hit my high beams? Do they just turn off?
you can get those from ebay. at least you can find a shop there with lots of price comparisons. good decision indeed to go HIDs. very useful at night times
+1 on ddm.
I would like to upgrade the horrible lighting on my taurus, but I am worried about blinding people by just throwing in a HID kit. Where should I look to purchase a projector housing that I could retrofit?
it depends on how your car is wired. if your low beams turn off when you put your high beams on I would use a relay to make sure the lows are on all the time regardless of the high beam status. HID’s dont like to be turned on and off rapidly (ie, flashing your high beams)
my question: what gauge headlight wiring is the minimum before you should get the relay harness? link
HEY GUY THAT BUMPED THIS THREAD, STOP BUMPING OLD ASS THREADS
