High End Computer - Intel 3.6Ghz Quad Core, 4GB DDR3, ATI 4870 1GB, 1TB HDD, 900W PSU

I had this computer sitting around for quite some time now, I might as well sell it if i’m not going to be using it. Its a fairly high end build, good quality components put together with experience and care. I only used the best performing parts, and made them all work just right. It’s a large black aluminum box that means business.

CPU: Intel Q9450 - 2.66Ghz 45nm 12MB L2 Quad Core, overclocked to 3.6Ghz. (This is a mild overclock for daily use)
RAM: 4GB Corsair Dominator DDR2 1066Mhz (Running at 1:1 with the 450x8 FSB)
MOBO: Asus P5K Preminum - Intel P35 chipset, high end motherboard. Excellent power regulation for reliable operation
VGA: HIS ATI 4870 1GB - This is the much faster 1GB version of the 512MB 4870, a very fast video card.
OPTICAL: 2x Samsung SATA DVD Burners, fast, quiet, reliable.
PSU: 900W Cooler Master UCP Ultimate - Overkill power.
HDD: 1TB Hitachi 7200RPM Hard Drive
SOUND: Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music - $100 Sound Card, Modified DAC section for excellent audio quality.
CASE: Lian Li RocketFish - All aluminum Full ATX Tower
CPU Cooler: Thermalwright Ultra Extreme 120 on the CPU, Lapped and Polished. Best air cooler on the market.
Fans: 110CFM Panaflow mag lev fans - Very high quality, motherboard is configured to run them slow and quiet.
OS: Windows 7 x64 - Fresh install, ready to go.

The motherboard has built in WiFi, eSata, USB, Firewire, Dual Gigabit Ethernet, Optical and Coaxial Digital out, etc…

Im sure there is a lot i’m missing to describe this computer. I most likely will end up parting it out, but will try this route first.

I’m looking for $800.
This price is extremely reasonable compared to some of the other computers sold on here.

that case is huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge nyspeed, huuuuuuuuuuuuge!

looks like a clean, quality build, glws

Solid build at a good price!

Just curious why you have the hard drives turned sideways like that? It seems like you would get better airflow if they were turned the regular way, unless I just can’t see some huge slots in the case that the hard drives are mounted to.

And lol @ the fan stacking going on around the CPU. That’s definitely an interesting way to do it.

The hard drives mount in the same orientation stock, with the wires facing the back of the case. I reversed it to get better access to swap drives easily. If you wanted to move them 90º, you just need to drill holes in the bottom of the case where it mounts. There is ample airflow over the drive, it normally runs a few degrees above ambient. There is a spot for another drive cage to the left of this one, which would be in the way if you moved this drive. Plus, drive temps aren’t important unless they start to get quite hot.

More fans, slowed down, is a good way to run quiet air cooling without everything running hot. Plus, this ‘push, pull’ configuration is a few degrees more efficient than a single fan. You just really need to make sure you use all of the exact same fan, or else you can get some interesting sounding drones, different speeds and airflows… This CPU cooler setup outperforms most cheap liquid setups, and is stunningly reliable when compared to a tiny water block that relies on constant water flowing through it. I designed this computer with the intent to allow for 24/7/365 operation at 100% CPU load, and don’t want to chance the pump failing, or waterblock clogging.

glws beautiful computer and great parts, gotta love asus mobos there bulletproof!

Bump.

Starting to move towards a part out.
If anyone wants anything, make me a offer in PM.

i want that case. i have the same one that i just got back after selling it to a friend for a couple years - but i want another! i know what i paid for mine though from bb, so let me know what you would want for it, i can grab it whenever.

The case isn’t really worth selling, especially since its currently holding everything.

I have a lowballer on CL that I can probably get $650 out of… I will probably go that route.

Bump for a very similar setup to my home PC I built.
