From their comments it really shows you which justices believe in personal reponsibility, and which ones are part of the, “There is always someone else to blame” mentality that is making our justice system the laughing stock of the world.
one of my dreams is that they’d sponsor some kind of thing where you donate like $100 and you can run from the cops in your car and not go to jail if you get caught. that’d be amazing

Didn’t they have some game show in Germany where you got an assload of money if you didn’t get caught? However, if you did you were fucked?
No one wants to touch on the politics of this huh? It’s the liberal judges who are in the wrong, yet again. What seems like common sense for the conservatives is being spun into more “blame someone else”.
“If Scott had stopped the pursuit at that point (in the parking lot), maybe he would have slowed down,” suggested Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
But Souter wondered whether ramming a car at 90 miles an hour was justified. “How could such a belief be reasonable?”
At least the two new conservatives appear to be on the right side…
Studies introduced by Harris’ lawyers have shown a majority of speeding drivers would do just that. “If the police weren’t after him, there is no indication that he would have been (continuing) speeding.”
“Well, he was speeding before police knew about him, right?” asked Chief Justice John Roberts. “That’s where this all started.”
Harris “created a tremendous risk (for) drivers on that road,” said Justice Samuel Alito.
I’m guessing he wasn’t charged because it’s at the discretion of the DA. The dude is a quad now, more than likely figured the results of his actions were more than enough punishment. No sense sending him to jail too. Not to mention any jury is going to look at the guy stuck in the wheel chair and probably let him off, figuring the same thing… he’s paying for his crime already.
