he would be worth it if he played more than 15 games a year. He only plays to draw fans in, he really does not offer that much to the team anymore. It’s sad to say, but he needs to retire before he makes an ass out of himself.

I never said he was done. i said he isnt near what he used to be. you can’t argue that fact. Not to mention he doesnt want it anymore. he doesnt like what the leauge has turn into. He’s even said it before. the game has turned into a ton of hacking. which in reality is the American style of the game.
I’ve played games in Canada, there is very little contact in a canadian game. The guys are mostly there to do what they need to. score. Most american players make up for thier skill by using thier stick. its what takes the advantage away now a day with the above average players. the players with less skill use thier sticks ( hooking, slashing, tripping) to compinsate for the skills they lack in relationship to the top players of the leauge
how can it be considered american style when most of the players aren’t from the US? I’d say its the eastern Euro style.
Its a shame that a player is judged only by his previous play, what does it matter if he’s still one of the best. If you really want to see a player that had no business still playing go look at the season willie mays played as a NY MET.
regardless there is nothing u can do about mario getting old. hes still the man and noone will ever replace him in my eyes, but at the same time u gotta look toward the future of the team and league and havin crosby would benefit us greatly.
Pens don’t have a choice unless they win the first pick. thats out of our hands, but we do still have mario and he’s not dead and still has the ability that if we get some players around him, he can lead us to a cup. You can plan and plan for the future but many times the future never comes. With the NHL’s new structure it should be closer to the competition in the NFL, meaning, you better win and win now cause that cap is gonna bite your ass off. Mario, elway, jordan, marino all proved that one player can’t win you a championship, the same applies to crosby. Neither of those guys won till they got a good supporting role.

whatever dude, u r constantly lookin to be negative. the pens r way under the cap and have a core group of young players that started to gel at the end of the season. i’d rather be the penguins and have a decent core of young players that have played together already and we have alot of room to work financially…as opposed to teams that have a shitload of veteren stars and r over the cap that need to unload.
