where does everyone get there kegs from? i really dont wanna spend $80 for a deposit at consumers
If you go to Flying Bison brewery, they simply take an imprint of your card, and only charge you if you fail to bring the keg back within 60 days or so. No deposit at the time of sale, its great.
Also, if you get 1/8 kegs from consumers, they only charge the container deposit ($30), not the NYS fee/deposit ($50).
We picked up a 1/8 of blue light for like $27 I think.
just got a keg from flying bison. went for the pale ale not to fond of it. ok i didnt know there was a lower charge on the 1/8 kegs. im gunna start doing that
actually flying bison didnt even take a copy of my card just took down my DriversLicence info
How many beers does an 1/8 equal out to be?
probably about 40ish?
I believe a half keg is about 15 gallons. That would make 1/8 Keg about 7.5 gallons X128oz/gal = 960oz/ 12oz per beer= 80 beers
Wrong…a 1/6 keg is only 5 gallons. You’ll get about 60 12oz beers from a 1/6 keg I believe. That would make the amount of beers from a 1/8 keg a bit less.
This has already been addressed.

Or as I like to have it…you should always have 1 keg for drinking, and a second keg for backup
yep. its poor planning otherwise.
indeed, as witness when we ran out at 1030 last party
too bad i was already out like $150 for that party
I’m talking about just day to day drinking.
Oooops. I for some reason thought you were talking about a 1/4 keg… hence my calculation above being the calculation for a 1/4 keg
