bobble strut= a torque brace to limit movement on a neon…
few months ago my stock one broke… so fabbed together a (solid) bobble strut, still using it and it works fine… just the bushings i used were too small and not firm enough, causing it to wear out FAST.
well tonight i was bored and decided to fab another one up.
used thicker thread and MUCH better bushings ( even tho im still missing 1, they only had one at the store) and MUCH better welds…
heres what it looks like just missing 1 bushing
No more wheel hop:bigthumb: I cant wait to install this new one
im still no chip foose but my versions are getting better and better.
theres 2 people that make (performance) versions of the bobble strut, 1 is very simple with no bushings and is completely solid… Vibrates like hell too
$=$32 shipped he sells those for
the other one, which is a very nice peice is built better and has bushings to cut back on vibrations…
he sells those for around $75 shipped…
i spent $5.11 in materials building this one, i just need another $0.30 bushing
the first one i made doesnt vibrate that much, def notice a difference but nothing HORRIBLE. Im expecting a little more vibes from this setup but nothing i couldnt get used to
i just got contacted by a guy that runs a shop in florida, said that theres alot of neons down there that would pay good money for these…
he wants me to make a whole bunch and sell them to him for 45 or so a peice, then he’s going to sell them for 60 a peice… hell! i’ll make 2 a day and ship them all down at once and make like 2700 bucks out of the deal
watch using all thread, it can bend under load/force. if possible use drill rod and thread as much as you need. this would be stronger since less metal is taking off for useless threads along with drill rod is a stronger metal
