Honda/Nissan hybrid

They aren’t for stock FWD SR20DETs, they are for swapped SR20DETs or SR20DE’s that have been turbo’d and wouldn’t fit the RWD so that’s how they differentiate.

As for CA18DETs yeah they got turbo pulsars (diff name though) and the older bluebirds had the CA18DETs too

Becareful about the tranny you use, if it’s used make sure the 5th gear synchros aren’t fubar otherwise it’ll pop out of gear while you’re cruising down the highway.
It’s a very common problem which for some reason my 250,000km NX2000 doesn’t have
But if the tranny is good it’s a STRAIGHT bolt on, you shouldn’t need to fab up anything, and the tranny itself is pretty robust on stock output but anything above 300 or a lot of HARD runs and you better have spare ones around.

I have the same problem with the tranny in my 87 Pulsar with the CA16DE (little bastard of a car)

If you ever junk that car I want it’s intake cam!!!

the intake cam??? how come?

I’ve got a CA18DET and the intake cam on the CA16DE was more aggressive.
Longer duration, higher lift.

It’s just a cheap/easy upgrade compared to buying performance cams.

Shoot me a price and I’ll see what I can do.

Interesting… Since the GTiR had a “better” SR20DET, could you mate the motor to a RWD tranny and get all the benefits of this better motor?
EDIT: I mean, if I wanted it on a 240, not on the hybrid

Bolt pattern is all wrong…
I’m not even sure if the head would even bolt on correctly, a lot of tube hook ups etc will be in the wrong place since it was designed for a FWD style layout. (Things like oil filter placement , coolant in/out etc)

Well, what kinda things would you need to do to say a blacktop, to have it catch up to the level of pwnage of the GTiR engine?

You can buy a quad-throttle body kit from some aussie company for RWD SR20s, beyond that it’s mostly tougher internals, better bolts and a BB T28.

you are starting to annoy me, you won’t like me when you annoy me…go read another magizine and stop asking retarded questions…

DO DRIFT DO DRIFT.

don’t forget to connect the flux-capacitor…idiot.

You have to ask somewhere.
You can just stop reading the thread if it annoys you

Sigh… Would it have killed you to give a friendly and helpful reply like nocwage? Seriously, not everyone is an expert in every field, you really shouldn’t just bash people cause you feel like it. I may not know nissan engines inside and out, but I can think of many things right off the top of my head that I know much more than you about.
I realize it must get annoying when people ask obvious questions covered by FAQ’s, but this wasn’t one of them, so seriously, if you’re just gonna flame someone, why bother replying at all?

And so I don’t forget, thx a lot for the help nocwage, I hope more people end up giving helpful answers to stupid questions like mine, because then there’d be a lot less fighting on the entire board.

it had a better SR20 because it had a t-28 and a different throttle body.

oh matty matt, you make me laugh.

now, now, no need to bash the honda guys,

lets not forget honda kicks ass in the four cylinder market, i don’t think nissan has come close to a record 6.71 down the track.

Don’t get me wrong, i love Nissan too, which is why i am currently pouring some bucks to revive a s13.

As long as its japanese, i’m happy as a fly on shit.

I just hate the fact that other jap fanatics have to hate on honda’s, but honestly i don’t think a n/a car like mine that runs 12s on street tires is a piece of shit.

Where is the love?

Yeah, can’t we all just get along?

looks at sig
Umm… it’s a joke, I swear!!

b20 fed integra?
As in just a b20 or a b20/16a head ?
(A buddy of mine built a b20 with a b16a head and put it in his delsol with 11.5:1 compression!!)

I’m gonna say pretty darn impressive to the engine part, but laugh at the del sol part  (not that it’s a bad car, it’s just a tad too feminine for most :))

“A couple of NISSAN SR20 will pull a premium, one week before race wars” F&F

hahahaha

Sorry for bringing up an old topic… saw this and had to say something. I’ve owned 2 240sx’s, an 89, and a 91. Beautiful cars, and more fun than I care to admit.
However, if you guys think that all it’s going to cost is $2500 in parts and stuff to get it all running. Your’ kidding yourselves. You’re looking at an easy $5k to do it properly. And that’s if you have connections to get parts at cost.
But it’s fun, however… had I the chance. I wouldn’t do it again.
