My boss is interested in lowering his 1999 Civic DX coupe. He is interested in maintaining as comfortable as ride as he can. Car has 70k so he is interested in shocks as well. What all would he need and what are some good products to look at.
Summary: want to lower a 99 civic dx coupe. would like it to be comfy please.:eekdance:
a nice full coilover setup should ride smoothly and then he can adjust it lower for the summer and higher in the winter. i have my car slammed on hr race springs with kyb agx shocks and it handles like a dream but a very rough ride. i like the way it looks but i’ll probably ditch the race springs for some sports for a smoother ride.
Tein Offers alot for that car. I would stick with the Tein brand name, they are well known and very reliable and performance wise theyre great, also very affordable, i have the basics but if you get the next level up the softness and hardness of the ride is adjustable
How low does he want it? Koni Yellows are great, Koni Reds are probably sufficient. H&R Sport springs, Eibach Sportline, maybe Tein S-techs, or something else name brand that doesn’t come from ebay for $20 plus $40 shipping…
My collection of suspension reference info, probably more than you need to know
Ground Control coil-overs with koni yellow shocks.

Ground Control = Garbage

Why are you hanging out with Honda boi faggots?
What is Iraq doing to you?!
And just get Koni Yellows. They are cheap.

Koni’s aren’t exactly a comfortable ride, Get a sport suspension and see if Mugen or Buddyclub makes anything for the DX. Great ride quality with actual performance comes at a great price.

I missed the comfort part. I only recommended yellows because I saw it was mainly for show. At least that’s what I took from it. I doubt he wants to spend the cash on some JDM to simply lower the car.

Hmmmmm…I’d put my ground control/koni setup against a lot of more expensive setups and there’s a good chance I’ll come out ahead the majority of the time.
