when you tried messing with the timing, were you using the jumper or simply adjusting the distributor?

Im not sure if its the same or not, but on my teg, I had to use the jumper to adjust the timing from the distributor, because the ecu would just compensate and keep the timing messed up

i found a basic thing about it. I wonder if it does anything for me since i havnt had a battery in the car for a year… Ill try it regaurdless.
