It’s worst once you get into bikes. They already stupid fast to begin with, and most people keep upgrading till you get to 1000’s, and then those get slow… which are 9 second machines.
That is why you see all the stupid turbo extended swing arms bikes, once you think 9’s are slow, there isnt much left for you, besides maybe buying your own jet fighter.
Where the problem lies in this thread, is that you are basing what makes a car, a good car, on how fast it is. When it comes to cheap speed and inexpesive tuning, Honda, civics mostly, are pretty much is the best to go with. However, if your like me, I dont base a car on what it does in the 1/4. I base a car on overall looks, production numbers, performance, and style.
For example your best Civic from the 90’s. Box shape, 4 cyl, vitually no HP and even less torque. A million of them were made. Without upgrades, they are ugly, slow, can’t handle worth shit. They are your basic economy car.
Now im not saying my car is the best in the world but heres what it has that no civic came with. AWD. AWS. 320HP. Gorgeous interior/exterior design. They are very few and far between as far as production goes.
This is all strictly based on my oppinion. Not saying every civic is a shitbox but stock, they are nothing but an economy car.
It’s mostly Hondas here but Hondas, 240SX, and DSMs are abused around here. I should show some pics from the Bronx-area. It makes my heart hurt. I’d almost not even drive any of those even IF I liked them due to the others. Sad that I can even admit to that. I am starting to feel that way with my platform. The # of threads where people don’t drive their car due to a clutch issue is amazing. “What do you think of this eBay clutch” is a common thread.

It’s not Hondas but any car that is light and has ready and cheap aftermarket. Truth be told, I know plenty of people who think your car is ugly piece of shit. 
I agree with 97VR4 in that Civics come from the factory as economy cars. Where I disagree though is that my opinion of Hondas is different in that I think that almost all of them look great in the OEM trim and have the potential to become truly fast and well performing cars. To each his own.

Thank you. There is more then one definition of “good”, and it’s all in the eye of the beholder. Rarity, unique, beautiful, tuner and Super cars, all have their “ultimate” cars and are all very different from others. What makes a great Track car makes a horrible 1/4 car, and vice versa because most cars are purpose built, and its hard to be good at everything. That is the reason super cars are worth what they are. Maybe your civic can beat a Ferrari in a 1/4 mile, but the Ferrari will steal beat it in Rarity, comfort, handling, styling, etc etc etc.

To reply, my original intentions for the car were met: 12s for like $50, AWD, IMHO, beautiful interior/exterior. Going faster and faster with a heavy car and limited and expensive aftermarket was a horrid idea on my behalf. Got me there.
