Hondas...

yeah I really didnt think that one through, I hit post then a second later I was like, wait shit he said s2000, oh well, they are fun cars my uncle had one but he had to sell it so he could fight a custody battle, he let me drive it once and it was great handled real nice, plus I got to hit V-tec!

No. Honda-Tech Search Upper right hand corner.

Funny shawn that you bash the s2000 when you own a heavy ass vr4 that cant turn!..if your gonna bash a s2k at least own a better car!!!Yeah vr4 can be fast but they are fat pigs and are now where near a s2k when both cars are tuned to there best potential.Turbo s2kcan run 10"S in the quarter mile…can out handle almost all cars…and are reliable. vr4 can run 10"s.crash into a tree on the first turn.and be at Mitsubishi service because its a Mitsubishi. :lol :crackup

did you take typing lessons from hank?

I’m sure the vr4 handled pretty awesome when it was made… over 10 years AGO!!

you really don’t know anything about cars

Where did I bash it? I am just a brutally honest person without regard to feelings. The car is a fantastic car with the best tranny I ever felt. But, it makes no torque and feels like a dump truck off VTEC. I know plenty of real Honda owners that agree.

Why did Mitsubishi provide me with a steering wheel then?

Define better?

Yea, the 3/S is heavy but start comparing it to the 300ZX, LS1, 03 Cobra, new GT-R, almighty Supra, etc…

Are you kidding me? Want some links to stock block 3/S in the 9s/10s? Are you really making comparisons with 3,750LBS car TOURING car from LATE 90s with a light Honda Coupe? Are you fucking retarded?

BTW, that blown Honda SDP mentioned, my car bone stock makes nearly 75TQ more. :lol

The last fanboi didn’t do too well and neither will you.

hmmm what’d it cost to build… i want a swapped honda soooo bad. just as a daily though.

The average person will spend 5-10K on a K swap, depending on which motor, where they get the labor done, etc.

How much is labor? I hate discussing labor as it changes from place to place and can skew the #s.

5-10K is a ton of money. I went 11.7s on street tires for that.

K20 swap a hopper

That’s what I’m saying, I have no idea how much the labor for an engine swap is, and I’m guessing it varies based on where you go. If you do it yourself obviously it’s free, but if you have it done at some place like Synapse, it could end up costing you. That’s why I gave such a broad range. I think 10K is the absolute max for a professional Type-R swap, nice header, custom wiring and fuel lines, mounts, etc.

i dont know what “fanboi” really means as slang, but i am a huge fan of honda and im not going to be ashamed to say it. bobbyt makes a point. your car really is a pig in the corners. watch any best motoring video and you’ll see the gto(3kgtvr4) get its ass kicked 99% of the time. honestly i have never even seen one finish second let alone first. the spirit R video from best motoring shows the 3kgt getting raped in the corners by a bone stock 98+ spec ITR. the 3k has corner exit accel. but it just cant hold the road. weight is its biggest enemy. as far as constantly referencing me as an example to all. your an idiot. maybe you would like to talk in person some time about this problem you have. :nod

I’ve NEVER spent money on labor. Don’t intend to. Parts wise what’re they runnin? I need to do a bit of research it appears.

I should be clear: While $5K-$10K is a lot of money, I am really not sure what you get but any “swap” is not trivial. The Honda useage of stock block is misleading. They do a swap to another stock block and then turbo it. So, basically, it’s $5-10K and THEN add turbo components? If so, that gets pricey REAL fast. But, that’s the name of the game.

It’s only been around for a decade or so. You have been called it before no doubt.

With “hondalover” in your e-mail, I don’t doubt it.

Are you really using Best Motoring videos are evidence? Are you fucking retarded?

I honestly could care about corners. Should I find cars that I don’t own and compare it to your beat up Honda?

LOL! Sounds like a threat? :lol

typical fanboi responses… Bash the fanboi’s manufacturer of choice and then be prepared to get your car picked apart.

the type r swap alone is almost 6k shipped. kpro is 1k, a good header is 800 dollars, mounts are 550, axles are 350, hasport wiring harness 375, rail, regulator fuel line and pump $600, shifter box 160, clutch line $100, ep3 idler pulley $175, radiator $250. thats over 10k in parts alone, not including installation.

that might seem like a lot of money to put into a cheap car, but it is a reliable low 12 second car with potential 11’s on slicks with tuning, that can get 27-30mpg, all for less than 15k including the car and would be a monster on a road course, the drag strip and the street.

Yep.

It’s funny because they think it’s me being VR-4 > * and that’s so far from the true. I can write a book on what I hate about the car. Again, it is what it is.

WOW. Yea, it’s MUCH more than the actual block… Always the little things.

The VR4 is a hero in its own right. It did exactly what Mitsubishi wanted it to do. It provided the Supra TT with fierce competition. Neither car is renowned for it’s handling, but they both are highway monsters. The VR4 was extremely advanced when it came out, with active aero, a Getrag tranny in the newer models, 4 wheel steering, and an active awd system. It’s a shame we don’t have cars like the VR4 and the Supra in production anymore. I’m all about Honda’s but you can’t hate on someone else’s car, because every car has advantages over another. I tried to argue with Shawn earlier, just for the sake of arguing… but while his opinions are brutal… he’s right in the respect that the VR4 was a great car. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t other great cars, and it certainly doesn’t mean you can’t have your own opinion.

And hybrdthry911… I didn’t even think of half of that stuff. The axles, radiator, pulleys, clutch lines, kpro and shifter went right over my head. The point is the K series swap is expensive haha.

yeah a k swap isnt your typical b series swap. nothing oem really works. the stock k series is a returnless system, eg/ek arent. cable vs linkage shifter, motor is on the other side of the bay lol, oem axles dont work, oem header doesnt work. if hasport wanted to they could make an ecotec motor drop in with the same money and effort. there is virtually no compatiblity for a k series in these cars.
