Hondas...

even the mighty k-20 has no chance against 6000+lbs of cutlass

Good post. Yea, at the time 3/S was ahead of its time but it’s 2 DECADE old technology.

Someday someone will realize that this thread was meant to be a joke but with I am going to respond to people who make retarded posts such as they think the tuner world would be lost without the Civic.

That makes more sense. The other components is what brings the price way up.

I heard NASA is using it now?

you are still pretty new to the forum… you will learn. K20 > *

Then why did this guy put an s2k motor in a rat rod :wow

just more proof that Honda>all :tong

I just want to put soemthing together relatively cheap that gets great gas mileage, is reliable as fuck, and is fun to drive in traffic. THus it needs to be a honda.

B series swap is the way to go

I built my K Swap for nothing else but great gas mileage, daily driver, and reliable. Only because i got the motor and shit for cheap w/ 4,9xx miles on it. My swap was rather cheap, no labor, got deals on the motor. Others have done it as cheap as i have on the K20a.org forums, so it can be done for cheap. Mine costed roughly $3700-$4000, without K-Pro, nitrous, aftermarket exhaust (used stock dc5 exhaust for the first few months), RBC intake. So it costed me that much to get it going. Was reliable, and still is to this day (knock on wood) Fun as fuck to drive daily too :banana

H2B>K20

H2b Kit = 1700 (includes, mounts, clutch, flywheel etc.)
H Series OBD1 block = 900
TypeR Tranny = 1000

$3600.

You can use stock axles, don’t need K-Pro. A lot cheaper than a K Swap and will pull on a K Swap as well.
h2b wtg.

Wrong. I can pull on my buddy’s H2B

that rat rod weighs less than a civic hatch, let alone a 6000lb hopper.

where’d you get deals on the motor etc?

nobody hit me over the head… what are these out of?

going to look at a civic hatch this weekend and i’m curious what i should be in for.

Not wrong. Plus you save yourself how much going H2B over K20? Your buddy must not be as good of a driver as you. That simple. The majority of threads I’ve read on Honda-tech (excluding those who are hump k series) the H2B runs very similar times. The majority of the times are even, if not, a little quicker. They’re debating the cost of the K Series, so, I’ll bring up the H2b which is a lot cheaper, and runs very similar times.

The K20a2 is out of the 02-04 RSX Type-S
K20z1 (which i have) out of the 05-06 RSX Type-S
K20a out of the Integra Type-R
K20z3 out of the 06+ Civic Si
K20a3 (you don’t want this one, it’s slow) out of the Base RSX and the EP3 Civic Si’s

True… I just needed a reason to post that pic hahaha. If you’re going with a swapped Civic, I have the following recommendations.
On a tight budget- d series turbo
On a less, but still tight budget- b series
On a less, but kinda tight budget- h series
On a sorta moderate budget- h2b
On a not so tight budget- k series
On no budget- don’t get a civic

I bought my sedan for $150
Motor - $1500
Mounts - $550
DC Sports header - $275
Driveshaft Shop 500+ hp axles(just to be safe) - $400

I used the wiring harness and ecu from the RSX, as i bought the whole car which saved a shitload of money. The rest of the money that added up to the 3700-4000 total was like the Karcepts shifter box mount and other misc. parts needed.

I second that.

That explains a lot of the choices I have see.

anyone wanna gimme a crash course in putting together a basic h2b?

My buddy is on here who has an H2B, but he never posts… I’m sure he would give you some info on the H2B.

H2B is all over Honda-Tech man. Right hand corner, SEARCH. It’s honestly the best bang for your buck.
