Hondata

I have a 98 teg with a turbo b18b motor and im looking to run hondata so i can pass inspection and tune easier. Does or has anyone used hondata? Is it worth the money? Which one do u prefer/suggest between the 100, 200, and 300

read the notes. Using Hondata requires you to convert to OBDI. With an OBDI ecu, you cannot pass an inspection.

If your going to convert to OBDI just have the ECU chipped and tune with crome/uberdata. it will be much less expensive and just as powerful.

it was already converted over to obd1 and is tuned with uberdata. I wanted to know then how do u pass an obd2 with a turbo. I thought that with hondata you could ge around the cels . Many turbo hondas ive seen run hondata.

the hondata S* is not going to get you past a nys inspection

you dont

To use any of those systems you have to convert to OBD1 which will not pass inspection. We do this using a plug and play conversion harness and an OBD1 ECU so it’s easy to go back and forth for inspection.

Hondata doesn’t allow you to pass. It can’t since you’re still OBD1 on an OBD2 car. If you need a retune we’d use Crome Pro which is better than Uberdata, but I see no reason to put a Hondata system on your car.

wouldn’t piggy back engine controller allow to pass inspection?..like the PCS XFC engine controller?

providing your motor has a crank angle sensor on it and 2 o2s and is obd II ready…you swap to stock injectors and an obdII ecu and stay outta boost for 40 miles or so. Then your readiness monitors will be good, you should be able to aviod a CEL and then take it to the inspection.

a lot of guys just run some sort of OBDII ECU and just stay out of boost for a while and kinda dog it to an inspection station

he doesnt need hondata for that
