My cousin does teaching but she’s not local. If you go to Pat’s on 16, they have noteboard by the door. Check it out for anyone advertising there. Or another place to check is the stable at the corner of Center and Partridge. I’m sure they could point you in the right direction. My cousin teaches seminars there when she’s in town and says they’re really nice.
im just trying to stop him from biting me… i have hurd a hot potato and i have also hurd to bite him in the nose… would like to know what one would be the best or if they think he would grow out of it… also he will walk on a lead rope just fine in the barn but once we go out the doors he gets crazy and wants to run around …i want to know the best way to keep him under control…
Yes Mike I have horse’s … when you come down to your moms house area let me know you should come check out the new house and such
i have family right up the street that has a training field with all the stuff like you see on TV. if you would like i can see if he can give you some pointers, not sure if you have a horse trailer or not.
With a colt that young you need to let them get out some of there energy by running out in the open and playing.
if he is biting you, every time he does, smack him on the nose and say firmly NO!.
Horses respond a lot like dogs, then when you feed him and he doesnt bite you, you give him a sugar cube or an apple, some sort of treat for being good.
But he needs to get that energy out somehow. let him out and let him run a bit.
Horses understand tone and inflection in our voices. and some words.
PM me what the problem is, I’ve been riding since I was 6, so I’ve picked up some knowledge along the way. Maybe it’s something I can give you some pointers on. I don’t know any trainers in the Buffalo area, sorry!
