"How Do You Earn a Living" sticky

Good luck @GV1390

Say what…? Awesome dude!!!

I always try and joke a little in interviews and lighten the mood.

Nice work! You have a big advantage being internal because you know what the companies goals and current strategy is.

1 - Speak to how your specific skill set will improve the role.
2 - Have a plan of a few initiatives or actions you believe you can execute in the position
3 - Take notes. Specifically I use this for a personalized follow up to each person on the interview team.
4 - Follow up after. See above.

Just a few off the top of my head.

Also if you do not get the job. Don’t ask why you didn’t get it but do ask what you can do to develop yourself for the next time an opportunity comes up.

Good luck man!

Yup… EMBA paying off already; which is a good thing! From what I’ve heard/found, a good MBA has a half life of about 6 months in regards to career changes/career direction changes. Mine took about 2.5 to shift my career direction.

Position becomes “public” knowledge today. The fun part is now I’ve got to do my new and old job at the same time for the next few months until we can find a replacement for me in my old position, which is proving to be a SERIOUS challenge.

I’m sure some know what I do, but I’ll post it here too.

Independent Insurance Agent. I sell Home, Auto, ATV, Umbrella, business, etc…

My main focus lately has been Worker’s Comp and targeting big business with loss history. I generally write all their policies after helping them setup a safety program.

I have helped a large selection of members here to save money too.

…and no, I’m not wearing Khakis…

I suppose an update is in order…for those that do not already know…

  • Praxair (Associate Buyer)
  • Real Estate Investor (Independent)
  • Tennis instructor/organizer/co-founder for non profit organization - RiverRock Tennis and Education Association (RRTEA)

Pantless huh? \:D/

Wouldn’t you like to know…:bootyshake:

Almost 2 hour interview, woof! It went really well except I didn’t know ONE stupid question on an internal abbreviation in which we barely touched subject on in our department before.

Looks like insulation covers right behind you? Their looking pretty rough…

Finally landed a teaching job right in WNY (only took 5 years). 21 mile round trip commute > 110 mile

Where’d you get it?!

PS, sorry I never got a chance to talk to you about mine, I’ve been out of town since beginning of June for PLTW

No worries, just sent you a PM.

I dig roads, its pretty sweet

Maintenance Support Advisor for Unifrax. Raises do a body good.

Does anyone on here still work at MOOG? I see they are having layoffs but the article was so vague I don’t know how many. Maybe 150 to 200 people locally.(?)

I am always looking for good people.
