Say if you have an older car that looks like in need of paint but you wanna try to restore it for the hell of it. But you wanna see if you can get the original paint to be shiny, waxy again. Looks almost like the clear coat is a foggy color,or fading.
What do you need to do ?.. Besides a repaint …

what detailing can do:

post up pictures from different angles and different lights so we can get a feel for what the paint is like

You can buff/polish it. If that doesnt bring it back and there is enough clear left you can wetsand/buff with 2000-3000 grit.

Have it PROFESSIONALLY detailed/wet sanded. Don’t go out there with some 2000 grit sandpaper and a bucket of water and expect it to work wonders for you.

I was surprised what a clay bar can do- it even got road line paint off my dad’s old car.
or do what “s0lace” did and detail your car WITH me/bigred/whoever.
