Got lowering springs in my trunk, wondering what would the labor hours look like.
1-1.5 ?

about as long as it takes to ship wheels from brooklyn to mass…
yea they don’t go in your trunk…time varies by car, but more than an hour.
You are so smart dude, I wanted to install a freaking lowering spring for my blinkers.
Dip shit
Why don’t you tell us what kind of car, and maybe your previous automotive experience, and maybe what tools you have available?
540I
I’m going to the shop due to lack of spring compressor.
dont forget to add in cost the of an alignment and associated boltsshims/labor to get it right. chances are a shop wont do a $99 alignment on a lowered bmw…
Ah shit good point, looks like I will just wait till I get my new shocks and a big brake kit and do it all at once without a wasting money on labor just for springs.
can rent a spring compressor.
Aware but still not worth it for just springs plus winter is coming up. I will just store them for now.
BMW 540i? good luck dude
What’s wrong with it?
Its fairly straight forward but very involved. the fronts are the easy ones. the rears require removal of half the interior.lol its an easy job if you know what your doing.
I am smart, smart enough to give info on the car if I was the one posting…all cars are different, and if you are putting in shocks/struts why would you not just do it all at once…or are you really poor like newman says?
i had a few choice words for when i figured out what was actually involved on the first one i did. you have to also rip out both fender liners, pull the evap box on the drivers side, and drop down the filler neck on the passenger side.
not worth it
customer car, not my call. rear upper shock mounts are also a very common failure point, so upgrading those would be wise while they’re out.
:)
7.5 hours or more. Enjoy.
most of that is not necessary or atleast it wasnt when i did the springs on my m5. biggest pain was removing the rear seats and pillars and sunshade, speaker deck, etc etc.
but when all was finished it was definately worth it.
Are you guys sure its for E34? I’m being skeptical about rear shocks.
