So I’ve been cheated several times by other members, the first 2 I was talked into buying damaged goods, which I take full responsibility for because I should’ve inspected the parts fully, but this latest transaction really has me pissed.
About 6-7 weeks ago I had contacted drunkmunky, AKA Billy, who had a FS thread for turbo and KA-T parts. I met with him, interested in his intercooler, piping, and last but not least, his Mishimoto aluminum rad. Now he claimed the rad was for 240SX, that it was brand new, installed in his own 240 but never used. I pay him for it, then deliver it to my mechanic who later calls me up telling me that this rad is actually for a SENTRA! I call Billy up telling him what I’ve been told and he says that the guy he bought it from told him it was for 240, which was B.S. because IT DOESN’T FIT IN A 240. However, Billy tells me he’s willing to buy it back, but that he won’t receive financial assistance until the middle of Sept. (which is weird because he gave me the old excuse that he was selling parts to buy a house…so the two stories don’t really add up). I wait until the middle of Sept., call him up and what does he tell me?..that his girlfriend can’t let him go through with the obligation of paying me back!. The guy must not have any balls! Now I’m really pissed, and ream the douchebag for lying to me this whole time about the bullshit story of the rad, and for breaking his word about paying me back. I told him he’s a liar about installing it in his own car, because technically the hoses don’t line up (the rad outlet is on the opposite side) and he says he really did install it and didn’t have any problems because he used a Sentra hose. LOL! Bullcrap!The conversation ended with him telling me he’d call me back the next day, which he never did, and he won’t answer his phone when I call.
I really am sick of getting burned by other SON members, it really shouldn’t happen in the first place, lesson this time for me - KNOW WHAT YOU’RE BUYING! But if you read this post, and are ever in the classifieds, watch out for drunkmunky and his little white dog (not very manly) - he’s a scumbag, bottom line
who cares if the hose outlet it on the wrong side…just pipe it…i ran a ka rad on my sr had to run the pipe across not a big deal as long as u can slide the rad in
He knew exactly what he was doing…he just wanted the money, and to be rid of it. Usually my guy is good at doctoring up a way to make at work, but the mounts don’t line up and there too much shit in the way to stretch a hose from one side to the other, or so he tells me.
you should’ve realized that the coolant outlet on the rad was in the wrong spot when you looked at it. then again, you did say you didn’t know what you were buying. maybe do a bit more research before you buy something from now on? it’s not too hard to find out where the coolant necks are on a motor.
I know what I wanted, I just missed a step and didn’t think to look at a 240 rad on the Mishimoto website to confirm, I just took his word for it. I take responsibility for that, but as for Mr. No-Balls telling me to hurry up and wait 7 weeks for a buyback then reneg with the excuse that his bitch won’t let him, that’s just fucking weak
Its unusual that this keeps happenning to you. You told me stories about you getting ripped off before buying my motor, then there was an issue with our transaction, which we handled and now something else…
^^Haha you’re right, this does keep happening to me, but I’m finished buying off other members. It’s too bad cause I don’t mind spending a few bucks on cars fairly often. You were solid though, that was a 3-way misunderstanding, and you handled it well. Btw I just took the tranny off and dropped it off at a wreckers, no problem, and my mechanic wired it up without any issues.
Other than that… in 5? years of memberships, more 240’s than I can remember… and definitely more parts than the average 240 owner; I’ve never had an issue.
Common sense, a bit of research, and buying off reputable people will go a long way. That being said… I never had a mechanic doing a radiator install for me. If you were doing it yourself, you probably would have been able to notice the issue. Just a thought.
