It is illegal to repair vehicles for compensation without being a registered repair shop. It is a V&T Law, and fineable up to $1000.00 per violation. Once you are found guilty if you dont pay the fine DMV can/will suspend vehicle registrations, license’s, place leins on property, and has authority to seal/ padlock premesis.
What happens when you fuck up someones car (even if by accident). Lets say you put a timing belt off a few teeth on an interference engine??? who’s responsible. This is why there is a repair shop law and its required to be registered (BTW part of which requires to to carry garageman’s liability insurance)

I like how you try to make it seem like I don’t know shit on cars because I spray painted rotors instead of leaving them rusted and spending 50 dollars on powdercoating when I was unemployed yet I have people who will vouch for my repairs because I did them right.
And to the above post, I understand that completly theres alot of people who does things off the books and whatnot also. Ofcourse if I thought I wasn’t capable 110% of doing something I’d just refer it to someone else to fix.
I didn’t know I was applying for a paint shop or powdercoating shop. If you think oil changes require painting rotors maybe you need to stay away from cars.

Most 4 cyl I will charge 200 bucks. Pending the car. You are a backyard mechanic I think 100 bucks will cover you. That way when you fuck the guy over he is not out slot of money
Drums not rotors, but being the first person to read something wrong I’m sure that you’d use that against my knowledge of cars. And oil changes are so simple you can tell them how to do it if they don’t feel its adequate enough to take your word.
I never charge for work done. If I’m doing work on cars it’s either for myself or for friends, and friends don’t charge friends (just beer and food).
That being said :tup: to those of you in Buffalo who DID help me in times of need and DID accept payment in forms of food or very cheap payment. MPD & nitroinsane being very helpful on numerous occasions. Thanks guys.
