How much do you have in your "street car?"

I have about $2500 in and I still haven’t even found the car yet. :lolham:

Your categories don’t go high enough.

i’m over 15K in the SHO. just the trans and turbo were 10K, and i’m sure i’ve got 5K in other stuff over the last 4 years.

what about past transmissions… lol

97:hmm, bought the car for 2k
1k last spring
1k last summer
1k this winter

pretty damn close to 5k overall.

67: bought for $800
1k in body pieces
1k or so in misc pieces
2,500 this winter
still 3k to go prolly till its streetable…at least.

Let’s just say more than enough so that it isn’t on jackstands anymore, arrrgh

Atleast there is one good thing to all the money I have invested, it was all paid in cash so I don’t have any crazy amounts of debt.
phwww
Thats also probably why I can’t keep the car on the road for more than a few days, stupid torque breaks everything stock, one after the other…and so on and so on and so on…

that would be even worse, no car and in debt, OUCH

But no really my Street Car just has tints, 160 bucks yo

opted for $10k - $15k usd…

it is likely more than that because of mistakes and things that needed to be redone.

and i didnt get to drive it all year… i feel like Jay

now you know my pain :frowning: sorry you had to go through that!

ever price one of these things. and i bought it in boxes

god it felt good to click 0-5,000

probably 20 to 30 million…i mean cmon i do own a civic

This got me thinking, here’s what it would cost to reproduce mine, the way I would do it; doing some stuff myself and farming out what I couldn’t. Seems like a lot of $$$, but since it would cost at least 5X as much to get the same kind of performance from a factory, amybe it’s not.

  • Short block $5,000
  • Valvetrain $1,000
  • Heads $2,500
  • Intake/TB/SC installation $1,000
  • Blower $2,500
  • Exhaust system $2,000
  • Water injection $500
  • Nitrous system $1,000
  • Ignition/Tuning $2,000
  • Fuel system $2,000
  • Clutch $1,000
  • Tranny upgrades/shifter $2,000
  • Driveshaft $350
  • Rear end $2,500
  • Wheels/Tires $1,500
  • Brakes $1,000
  • Suspension upgrades $1,000
  • Cage $1,000
  • Appearance $2,500

That totals ~$32,500. I am sure I left stuff out though. And I did not get there by a direct route. Still, I bought the car new for $25,000, add $32,500and it’s still below $60,000. The current price/erformance leader is the Z06, that would cost more and I’d rather have what I got.

$60 for air shocks
$50 for tranny cooler
Ummmm…That’s it.
