how much power is enough?

allright, well now, as some of you might know, i was building my car for drag racing, and turboed my KA, well that lasted about a day and a half before i ripped the rings off the pistons. as of now, the car only has 2 cylinders, and i’m about to get an engine built up for me. forged pistons, cometic headgasket, ARP bolts throughout the engine, and basically, the weak point with this whole setup i’m told, is the stock rods, about 450 HP, what are the odds of me going above and beyond those figures, this is the first car i’ve tried building for power, and i just want to know if the want for more ever stops. i’d like to hear from guys who’ve actually been in my place, and not someone who’s never built an engine before, or never been around someone who’s built one before, no offense guys, but i need an experienced point of view on this. would it be worth it?

If the cr is actually going to be a drag car…yes do it. Make all hte power you can. With that said, be preared to keep upgrading it and fixing it. You are not going to build a 450hp motor and just forget about it for 5 years

that is all

That build with a nice T3/T4

^^^ That build with a nice T3/T4 and a good tune you will be afraid of the car.

If you’re building the motor why wouldn’t you do the rods? Seems obvious to me.

Keep us updated, I always enjoy +400whp KA builds…

dooo it and hey u never know jun built a skyline that has like 1000 and its hasnt broke in like over 5 years

and how many KM were put on it in 5 years?

depends, is this a car that is only driven to the drag strip, then raced and driven (or broken and towed) home after? or is it a car you plan on driving a lot that will see the occasional friday night test & tune?

if it’s just for racing, more power for sure, daily driver i wouldn’t bother.

hahha i cant remember
