How NOT to launch

I’ve been launching at around 1500 rpm prior to my 3.73 installation, and now I can’t do it like that any more. Even at 1000 RPM my rear wheels start to move a little, even while the brakes are on TO THE FLOOR. Next week I’ll put my DR’s on and see how I do

This run was from an idle launch. I spun WAAAAY too much in 1st, and the rear kicked out into 2nd. I still managed to get up to 99 mph, but ran a terrible run @ 14.18. Atleast my RT was .012…i gotta have something to show for that run, lol. Ya gotta love torque:bigthumb:

put it in neutral, rev the motor, while you press hard on the brakes. lay off the throttle, and put it in gear, and torque up.

My A4 tranny would be raped…

Did I race you at PRP on Wednesday? Were you the guy with the valve float problem?

no i didnt race on wednesday.

ahh, much better with a set of DR’s…

getting better

hahaha did anyone happen to catch the license plate of the mustang that lined behind you?

it said LPH ALOT and i believe it ran a 14.9

The guy in the mustang said he couldn’t hook up, but that might be all the water still on his tires from the burnout box. DUDE, I’ve done bigger burnouts NOT on purpose (while pissed off in traffic, lol).

Ok I feel better now. I hooked up the bottle and did MUCH better. I sprayed WOT and had no issues with traction. I pulled my first ever run in the 12’s. It was a 12.62 @107, with a 1.77 60 foot.

lookin good

looks good… bring that shit to norwalk. that track looks hella shitty. where is that at?

and how big of a shot ar eyou running… and what did u do to the motor?

stock bottom end. It’s a bolt-on car other than a set of 3.73’s. I decided to chill with a 100 shot for now.

I dunno if I have time this season to get out to Norwalk. Is that the 1/8th mile track? I’m still learning the area.
