Im going to court tommorow for a small speeding ticket (12 over) and driving with a suspended license
Im going to plead not guilty to the speeding ticket, but Im curious as to how I should plea for the other one. I wont have a lawyer, but when I do go to court for it, ill have all my receipts showing that I paid off the outstanding fine that cause the suspended licence within 6 hours of receiving the suspended license ticket. I also have an abstract of my license showing its clean, minus one ticket. Im hoping this will show my maturity in dealing with the matter etc…
But, like I said, im just a little unsure how I should plea for the suspended license thing. Im assuming not guilty…
no for a suspended liscence you dont see the da, you dont want to plead guilty at all…thats jail time or a huuuuuuugggggeeeee fine . The judge will give you time to go get a lawyer and come back…trust me, do that. I went throught that whole ordeal
Well, my reasoning for not getting a lawyer is that 4 of my friends had the same ticket, except worse things caused their licenses to be suspended, and in one case, revoked. They didnt have lawyers, and they mad eout fairly well
The judge told me I was better off with a lawyer, it depends on your driving record i guess. I had no tickets on mine so he dropped the speeding to a moving violation and the suspended liscence to non-misdemeanor. My total cost was $350 for lawyer and $100 fine.
well, my main question, is what can i expect to happen tommorow? im going in to plead, so I assume ill talk to the judge, and be given another court date…
