How to drive an SR

+1 for KA

my beater hatch back is easier to slide than my SR coupe…

for low speed sliding i’d take a KA anyday

practice sliding the car without using any power at all

what sasha said, he drove my ka when it had a leaky valve and a dead fuel pump. as long as you entered faster than anyone else you would make the corner haha

when i first put my old ca in when it was stock, it was pretty much slower than a ka untill it hit about 5grand.

it took me 2 months to learn how to slide it, then when i went back to ka i could slide the ka even better cause i was used to having to enter way faster with the rev’s up.

ive drifted an sr with basic mods and kat with basic mods and they were still easlier than a stock ka.

bottom line is if you want to drift and be half decent you need a brand new vlsd or mechanical diff and coilovers

and thats where your wrong, you can drift with vlsd and springs and shocks imo

But it is easier to drift with upgraded susp then it is with upgraded engine.

That is what Jesse is saying… not that you can’t, just that it is easier… then when you get the engine, you will be killer.

Theo

Vlad is pretty good already with his setup…

The turbo is just throwing him off…

I know he is I have seen him at the track every time I have been there.

i think that is one of the main differences i notice between lots of american style am drifters and japanese style am drifters, japs will generally have coilovers and a diff before they upgrade their stock sr. americans will put more into power than suspension. Making the car look silly and twitchy. sometimes

though i tried to drift theo’s car with coilovers and vlsd and it was the gayest thing i think i have ever tried to drift. It was awsome while grip driving. though it felt like a family sedan through the corner

The driver was the gay aspect of your trying to drift my car jes.

it doesn’t have a vlsd, it is open now… and the coils were at full soft when you drove it.

I have sways coming, going to add more preload to the coils, and will crank up the damening to full hard for a real drifting track.

Where is your super awsome car now jesse? in the garage cause you can’t keep it on the track? nice setup hahahaha

Don’t call my car gay

so what is the advantage of drifting with an SR? :?

Ladies ladies… it’s not the car, it’s the driver.

yeah yeah i couldnt keep it on the track cause i was too busy trying to double your entry speed bitch!! :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve never really considered the KA “torqy”. When you guys refer to it that way it sounds a little weird but I guess it makes sense when compared to other 4-bangers.

What do you guys consider “high” entry speed? I find the only way I can get a good drift going is if I hit the corner at +80km/h. This is in a KA, mind you.

B-Wurm
