so has anyone figured out how to get the 5th and 6th bolts out yet…is there any certain type of tool that will allow me to have more room to unscrew these bolts? its impossible to do it from in the car with a regular wrench, and underneath the car there is next to no room to move the wrench. what has been other people’s experiences with taking these bolts out?
Yeah its terribly simple.
You get a 12mm Wrench and get under the car and loosen/tighten them out/in.
It helps if you have a ratcheting Wrench.

AKA Gear Wrench as Pavel said in his original post.
I’d advise anyone doing a motor/tranny swap and also planning to install a short shifter to do it while everything is out. It’ll save some time and hastle, these things can be nasty to get at while on the car, especially in a home garage with limited space.
^^^ Bah good luck getting the tranny back in the car with the B&M shifter
in dude. I can speak from experience its next to impossible. My advce
honestly is jack up the car and get under there with a gear wrench. It
took Smoke 5 min to take mine out of my car when dropping my tranny.
I’ve done it, so it is possible. I jacked up one side of the car to increase clearance between the tranny and the tranny tunnel. After that, it takes alot of patience, time and dexterity.
I found the front two bolts pretty easy to remove. Just take the shifter handle out and then you have lots of clearence from inside the car to remove the bolts. And then to put them back in you can remove the b&m shifter handle while you install the plate then put the handle back in once the plate is installed. And you also don’t need to remove the front bolts from the plate, as long as they are no longer threaded into the tranny you can remove the plate while they are still in the holes. I didn’t see the big deal or problem removing these two bolts.
