How to make plastic/plexiglass/lexan/something molds? Who can do it locally?

I know a lot of you may disprove of the taste/styling but I am creating this thread in hope of getting some help in completing/making this.

I don’t want this trash (yes its fugly). yes it saves weight and I could achieve my goal of weight savings but no:

I’ve been too work-busy to have any time to continue my project (lol… almost a year since i last touched the idea – pathetic)…

Basically I have two non popups in possession for the s13.

First I got supermade FRP non popups which are basically two piece like the bellow examples:

http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerofile/38779/fghj.jpg

However I dont like the way that shit is glued on/put together… Or open holes, etc…

Next I got some prototype c-west carbon non popups:

Essentially both are very similar, one is completely cut out square the other is dual circles. In either case they are not protruding and therefore can be covered.

Similarly there were off the shelf jdm options that are now discontinued that are not protruding and covered:

Now what I am wondering is how these see through covers are made , their moulds or whatever. I want to have a flush covered option by modifying either the c-west or supermade ones I have into something like the above:

I mean look at these things:

As seen above… I am wondering about how that stuff gets made and if anyone can make them locally. Or how to make them. The NSX option is pretty hot to me…

It may seem unessential to some of you but I wana finally complete this  Weight savings + functional lights why not… I personally like it… I know some may detest the styling but hey. Yes popups are retro cool and have a warm fuzzy feeling to them, but I want the weight savings and I’m sick of the popups getting stuck/being up, squeeking, having to fix them, grease them, whatever. I just want them gone and no i dont want s13.5 or s13.4 or s13 silvia conversions on my car

I haven’t tried it yet but when I get some time I’ll try to grab spare metal popup covers and try to see if they fit over the c-west or supermade non popups and see if i could use that to form a mold or something… Help a 240 brotha out.

sell me the supermade ones

^no lol, only if i end up not using them

It really interests me how these are made… these plastic whatever clear covers/molds…

buy lexan, punch rivets, blamo. now you have headlights.

now sell me them

I don’t want a shitty half ass job when doing it…

why not?

itll match your rolled fenders

Reported for flame baiting

Oh which fenders you mean the ones you can’t afford that I already have and will hopefully be installing this summer:

Lay off the crack. My car rocks and is well built on things that matter. I didn’t waste money on form like most fanbois do. Yes I bent my unrollable fenders to fit 17x9.5s with 255s in the front. And I’m proud of it, it worked quite well on the track for me. I’ll be fitting even wider tires all around in time to come.

When I do something with intent to do, I’ll do it well and better than most, however that takes time, money and prioritization.

Stop trying to beat a dead horse around with lame remarks. If you have no useful contribution to what I want to do or make, please don’t post with flame baiting remarks. Your post has been reported and no I will not sell you supermade headlights, however once I am done with the form-side of things I will sell you my bent stock metal fenders so you can make your car as fast and awesome as mine

lolerskatez

I love threads when they go like this! some people complain about SON, I think its awesome.

But in all seriousness… buy lexan. heat in oven on lowest setting (125) for 10 minutes. Then simply lay it over a solid object sculpted into the rough shape you want. I.E. an extra s13 metal lens cover. Apply even pressure to form it, and voila.

Then contact cement it to a frame you’ve built around the headlight. Or rivet.

buddy, i can afford anything you can afford so fuck off in that regard. keep rocking your stock ka with rusted, bucked, ugly fucking fenders. you wanted function over form? lexan and rivets work perfectly. if porsche can do it, so can you.

and second, i GAVE you a useful contribution which you shit on so dont be such a pissy, whiny little girl. reported ohhhhh gosh, ive never been suspended from a forum before, whatever will i do?! and smart ass remarks arent even a suspendable offense, only a crack head would believe so.

anyway, good luck with your ricer headlight conversion attempt, im sure theyll turn out great!

Hey Ciaran come hang out more often.

will do bro.

im free all weekend.

you wanna go for some beers?

I don’t drink beer… but we do have free pizza at the shop sunday nights!

free pizza?

im sooo fucking down!

Free pizza you say?

Ahmed just find some veilside headlights, or wait till a pair pop up ( lol pun intended).

yeah John! Drag your black ass out man! You haven’t even seen the new shop.

SUNDAYS AT THE SHOP

The Supermades are hot, butchering them is criminal.
Every 10lbs shaved is like adding 1hp in theory. That’s a lot of effort for nominal gains and it’s pretty anal when there’s more important-albeit initially costly but more rewarding performance wise-things to address like ditching that KA, creating more downforce, etc.

If you do it post up pics.
