therefore you have springs + tolilo blues

[/quote]

I love tolilo blues

Sounds like a 2 cent hooker!!! 8)

i think you mean tokico Blues!!
Entry level!!

Not to rag specifically on Solarian, but why does everyone with coil springs on a sleeve insist they are coilovers? Ghey.

Thats how they brand them!!!
companies like:
CLA
Ractive
Toms motorsport

THey use this as a selling point!!!

Cause the guy that sold me them said they are, and I don’t really know what a true coilover is

A true coilover set will cost you more than $400

I slowly rub the side of the 240sx hoping that a magical genie comes up and bestows my 240sx with a rb26dett, and custom fab. for all wheel drive, and throws in a couple of barrels of gold so i can pay for insurancce…

Most likely… i am going to be doing some cosmetic work, and gutting the car.

NOT a coilover. Lowering springs, nothing more. Cheap shit.

REAL coilover.

Yea, look carefully. Real coilovers come with zipties. The industry
standard for holding shit together for all the havoc these coilovers will
cause on the car.

It brings tears to my eyes to see good ole ractive coil over sleeves!!
I think those are the 88-2000 civic,accord,prelude,integra,1.6,vw jetta,vw golf applications

One size fits all!!

So the real thing would be like those Kei Office ones that everyone is ranting and raving about? What about D2’s? Are those real coilovers?
And if I wanted to replace the rusty spring things my car has, with REAL coilovers, would I also be removing the tokico blues? Cause the pic you posted looked like it had that part too…
And whoever thinks to just yell… DON’T! Genuine question, I honestly don’t know and would like to, and from the looks of things I’m not the only one that doesn’t know.

Hey Solarian, A ‘real’ coilover has the spring and shock integrated into one unit that is usually fully adjustable for height and damping. They will also usually have camber adjustment if they are for a MacStrut equiped car.

BTW I did engine first and it wasn’t he best way to go but then agian I had an automatic.

Yes D2s are coilovers. A lot of happy users.

Some of your other options are:

D2, JIC, HKS, KEI OFFICE, Tanabe, Tein, Nismo Apexi

Am I missing anything else?

You can go any route you want. It’s your car.

Don’t do what everyone says about the order:
-Brake
-Suspension
-Engine
-Body

It’s just the desired route for those who like the most out of their car on
a performance basis, where they plan to track the car.

If you just wanna street the thing, then do any way you want.

It’s your bag of smarties. No one is gonna tell you no to eat the red ones last.

Let’s just hope if they drop the motor in without upgrading the footworks and brakes, that the only person they kill are themselves…

Has no body even mentioned that when you upgrade to a) Keep your head b) and drive responsibly?
