Opinions?

OK made a few changes to the car recently and I’m looking for some opinions…

First of all, I just put the rims, tires and z32 front brakes on.

The rims are “Hyper Silver” (5zigen) so basically just a dark silver. I’m not positive that I love the color but I definitely don’t mind it.

So to those of you with some style… what else should I do?
I wan’t to keep it clean.
Is the ride height ok? I don’t want to shlam it too much.
If I were to get the rims PC’d, what color?
I need to paint the Z32 calipers, what color to match the rims and car?

Any creative critisizm, opinions, etc. are more than welcome!

Sorry for the filthy car! And to those curious the marks on the rims aren’t scratches but wax that I never cleaned off when the tires were mounted.

Looks good John, couple things…

Get OEM skirts and rear valance and remove mud flaps
Get Bings front lip replica or some kind (other than zenki)
Set the coils a bit lower, like 1/2" or so (front looks a bit higher too)
Paint the brakes satin or semigloss black, colored brakes = RICE.
if you slamm it enough, get bings wangan style spoiler.

then

Bring it to the track as much as possible!! (once you get the power thing sorted out…)

Theo

Thanks Theo…

In the midst of sorting out the power thing, I promise!

I’d love to put a lip on it, but being my daily driver in the summer I just can’t… Even now I scrape quite a lot.

I see what you mean about the front it does look a tad higher than the back, my biggest issue is trying to deal with not scraping on everything - I hate having to worry about which driveway to go in to walmart because I don’t fit over the speedbumps… even now the bottom of my car scrapes when I go over the speedbumps in the local walmart and canadian tire lots… it sucks! I don’t know how people deal with this… haha

I agree that crazy colored brakes are rice… (ahem gonad ahem)

So you think keep the rims this color and do black calipers?

Powdercoat the brakes black. Anything else will look like shit from brakedust.

Other then that, just convert it to a Coupe somehow and you’re set.

hey man

i would defintly recomend getting clears all the way around to match the front i think it would look real nice…and just like theo said get side skirts for sure and a rear valence…the front is too high maybe if u could lift the rear end abit? i dont know if u can but if they matched it would look better

get 180sx tail lights…and maybe a rear spoiler…i think they look nice with almost like a smaller version of the silvia k’s spoiler…other than that its a prettty f ing sick car in awesome condition and i want it

oh and those rims are sooooo niceeeee

slam it on stock aero.

0 finger gap front and back

get jdm turn signals or smoke your clear ones

kouki tails and body kit.

Hey Dude… Looks Nice I prefer the Stock look of the hatch “kouki tails” would top it off

Here is a quick picture of Theo’s Calipers after being Coated “he did the Polishing of the Letters himself”

Gonad is on the money too when he says go Black because of the Brake Dust “any Bright Colour will look like crap and require cleaning on the regular” If you went Black/Gunmetal/Bronze etc… It would be fine, “red/blue/white” dirt would show instantly!

In regards to the Rim Shade… “my opinion” with the Black Base, I’d probably go with a Metallic Bronze “Like a Gunmetal” but Bronze instead of the Charcoal/Grey look.

15% Discounts to all SON members as well

oh ya and dont take off your mudflaps

im not being sarcastic

mudflaps are hot

damn thanks for the input guys… i like the idea of clears all the way around…

how difficult is it to smoke the clear turn signals on the front? i didnt even know that was possible

i’d like to do rear valance and side skirts but will that look stupid without a front lip? I refuse to do the lip ;]

i’ll definitely be grabbing kouki tails… dumping a bit of money in to the motor right now so it’s not really fesible at the moment unfortunately. Just trying to work with the essentials for now for the most part.

Here’s another one… what do you guys think of the tire width? I’ve got 255’s on there right now but I might wanna put 275’s next time to give that a shot. I’ve still got lots of room there for clearance I’m just worried about it looking silly since it probably wont be as flush looking.

are you being a jerk? hahah

i’m taking them off. i was about to do it before i took those pics earlier today but then I realized I had to take the tire off to get a screw driver in there and since I’m lazy I didn’t.

no mudflaps are sick i have them on my car thats slammed there about half and inch off the ground

rear valance and side skirts oem looks fine with no lip aslong as you slam it, and i wouldnt go with 275s it will look buldging from the sides and kina shelburne 240 style

lips are for people who are afraid to go low anyways

haha “lips are for people afraid to go low” – I love it.

Anyway, i’ll play with the ride heights again sometime soon. I still need to deal with the fronts I’m rubbing the fender liners a bit but I need t/c rods bad to muck with my caster it’s not good at all heh.

all of my multilink is still stock – haven’t decided what route to go yet… bings new stuff looks like it will be good but I still hate being the ginea pig. I get good prices on battle version, kazama, etc. so I might end up going that route and then I will just never have to worry about it again.

Anyhow… thanks again for the input it’s all being taken seriously.

Except for the mudflaps… DOWN WITH MUDFLAPS. Actually mudflaps on coupes are sexy.

are they?

i think the car looks great. i’d still drop it a bit in front… remove the fender liners if you have to!

lose the mud flaps and lower it another half inch to an inch

your car is nice, dont lower the front anymore, just get a pdm front lip, oem skirts and rear, rims powdercoated dark bronze, and your good to go

Lower the front and call it a day.

Lower it and buy spacers to push the wheels out.

Then have sex with the flushness.

you think they need spacers? :-/

no way, they look good like that. Definetely loose the mud flaps, other than that it looks good. Is there an SR under the hood?
