I think the body work is all bondo, how is a RWD car that heavy, that is EVO/STi territory, with 90 less hp too.
It’s pretty typical for a modern car to weigh that much.
Safety features and interior panelling add a ton of weight. Look at the interior of your Tercel and look at the inside of that car… If you can’t figure it out based on the plastic alone, then Iunno 
I agree though, it’s a shame new cars are so portly… I’m looking forward to the RX-9, which they claim they wanna keep in the 2600lb range, and the R-Spec or whatever Genesis should be cool… Hopefully we see the trend in new sports coupes and sports cars…
they should of offered the V8 instead of the V6. my line up…
2.0t with 210hp
2.0t with 280-300hp
V8 from the Genesis sedan 375hp
i like the car never the less but it would be nice to see the V8 in there. it would blow the G37 out of the water.
