These cars are gonna become even more popular as the survivors dwindle down and fuel prices rise. I see people driving old VWs more and more lately. Having something clean, classic, and good on fuel will be the new cool thing.
Recently I have seen a clean late 80s Corolla cruising Albany. I regretfully sort of like it. LoL
Well since I last posted on the CRX we’ve been knee deep in getting her that much closer to being on the road. Here’s what we’ve (my honda loving friend Dan & I) been up to.
-Fitted new hood, bumpers & bumper supports
-Cleaned the interior up & put it back together
-Threw some new paint on the car
-Cleaned up the engine bay with some paint
-New valve cover gasket
Some pics:
Dan approved haha
All primed up
Army Green on the PGM Cover
Pretty clean, always good
Keeping it looking oem
Engine bay, missing intake
Oh yeah, got these from my parts guy for a 100 bucks
Sneak peak at the new paint
So now it’s just waiting on some parts. I have my new muffler & bumper lights in the mail. Headers will be coming once I get some tires for the rims. I’m searching around for a cheap set of lower profile 14s so if anyone has/knows of any let me know. I’m also debating coilovers, if anyone has a nice set they want to sell, shot me a pm. Just needs rotors, pads & calipers up front & she will be on the road. Stay tuned… :excited
Well fellow shift members, after 3 years of not seeing the road, my little CRX has made it’s return to the streets of the 518. Insurance is costing me an extra 19 dollars a month! So far I’ve put about 130 or so miles on it & gone through basically a 1/4 tank of gas. Aside from having to down shift to get her up hills I love this thing. Here’s some pics of the beast with the dub. Don’t mind the missing trim, I have it just gotta get some clips. I really wanna thank my good friend Dan for all his help on this car & the guy I’ve been buying parts off. This is just stage 1 of the project. Stay tuned b/c we’ve only just begun :excited

my fleet
tires are a tad big but for 60 bucks basically new couldn’t say no
Yeah I was pretty happy finding this gem. Love it a hell of a lot more than my dub, well aside from the lack of power haha. I’ll be happy with anything above 35 mpg
