2000 audi S4. It is blue and the bumper’s and hood need replacing and or some repair work. Has hybrid turbos of some sort but I am not really sure what they are. I don’t see boost until about 3K then I get about 14-15psi and it holds it to redline. stasis coilovers, no exhaust but I do have labree downpipes for it. I will likely buy obx exhaust manifolds, CX racing side mounts to get rid of the ugly front mount and a stasis center diff. I am on the fence if I want a quafie on the front diff or not but I will probably pass on it because it is expensive and the car doesn’t make that much power anyway. once I get the body squared away I will see if the turbos can push 20psi and see what it does on the dyno.
I spent a few days driving the car and it drives great. It is so refined compared to my 1990 SHO but it is not at all exciting to drive. after 4 days of not driving the SHO I jumped back in it and had a huge grin on my face as I slid the rear end out on some… all of the highway ramps I too on a certain highway. The audi has a lot of understeer and a hint of lift off oversteer. I will probably winter drive the audi and track the SHO because it is WAY more fun to drive.
oh yes. I have pistons on order. I installed the new K member as well as upper and lower control arms to get some weight off the front end and make some more space. The engine sits much lower in the car with the new K member. I am hoping to have it running at some point this summer even if it is on a stock engine. I have a stock engine ready to go and they are good for around 400whp reliably 425 and you will eventually crack pistons, 450+ is a ticking time bomb but a few guys have made more than that few a short time on stock pistons.
I have 3 projects.
1 SHO camaro
2 1990 SHO (install supercharger and engine oil cooler for upcoming trackdays out west)
3 2000 S4 winter beater probably
I don’t know why these cars get such a bad rap. I’ve daily driven my s4 for 2 years and the only things that broke were a turbo and an alternator. I knew the turbo was going to go soon because of the mileage anyways
To the OP do some research before you start buying parts. OBX manifolds are garbage and most people keep the stock ones as the perform fine. You also need to pull the motor to install them. CX racing sidemounts also suck. Look for a used set of RS4s or AWE sidemounts instead. Stasis diff is fine but a JHM is cheaper and no need for a LSD. Nice pickup though. Enjoy it
Well I upgraded when that happened. I’m sure I could have gotten a good set of low mileage k03s for 300 bucks tops and well say 2000 for labor. That’s not too crazy IMO
Nice pick up! Those downpipes are really nice. There’s a guy out here with them. If you ever want to get rid of them let me know
The FMICs are ugly but they perform well. About as good as ERs/AWEs so you might want to keep it and maybe just black out the piping. The CX racing ones suck, they’re worse than stock.
