I gots me some boost!

So it turns out that the problem that has been plaguing me since buying the car was about the stupidest, easiest thing. I’m not sure if someone was playing a prank on Chris when he owned the car, or if the boost controller was just hooked up backwards right from the start, but it was regardless. A simple switch of the lines and hello 15psi!

When the engine gets a little warmer it disagrees with that pressure so I’ve dropped it back to 12 with no protest being heard on 92 octane. I figure I might have to buy a little race fuel and run a couple passes down at Bud Park later this month.

 Thats crazy that the boost controller would be hooked up backwards! If I’m not mistaken didn’t Chris buy that car from Sumaru’s? :?

lol

I believe so, yes indeed. Although Chris had been able to run more than 8psi in the past, so he thought that maybe someone was playing a prank, or possibly someone that doesn’t like him was trying to blow up his engine.

Regardless, it runs well at higher boost and I’m going to start looking for an intercooler this week.

Where did you find 92 Octane?

Ermmmmm, that was a mistake, 91octane. I guess with detonation being an issue now I can start seeing which company’s fuel works best for me. :?

I have been running Husky/Mohawk 92, they keep saying the are going to install 94 pumps soon at most stations, there are 2 stations in Calg that sell 94 but one is going away. You guys have that up in Edm or heard talk about them adding this as a standard selection?

Not too sure about the Ethenol (spelling?) additives that Mohawk uses, anyone know much about that?

I saw a post on another forum from a dude in the states, a station in his city now has 100octane at the pump! works out to be about 1.90~ /litre but still would be nice to have the option sometimes!
